UPCET Exam Date Announced: UPCET 2021 will be held on 18 May 2021. The last date to submit UPCET online admission forms is 30th April 2021 (11:59 pm). 

From this year on, the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam (UPSEE) will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It has been renamed as Uttar Pradesh Combined Entrance Test (UPCET). This year, UPCET exam will be conducted on 16 May 2021. Furthermore, from this year, no entrance examination will be conducted by AKTU.

Candidates shortlisted from this exam can apply for admission to the first-year undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and lateral entry to second year UG programmes to professional courses at government, government-aided institutions, and private-unaided institutions affiliated to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) and other state universities based in Uttar Pradesh via the exam.

Important Update

  • National Test Agency (NTA) has now released an official notification announcing the new exam date and schedule. The exam will now be conducted on 18th May instead of 16 May, as per the notice.
  • UPCET 2021 will be conducted on 16th May 2021.
  • UPCET registration process 2021 has started from 26th March 2021
  • The last date for submission of UPCET online admission forms is 25th April 2021.

UPCET – Eligibility Criteria

Before filling in the application forms the candidates must ensure that they satisfy the eligibility criteria defined by the conducting body. In case any candidate is found ineligible, the university holds all the rights to cancel the candidature of the candidates at any given point of time. The candidates will be required to satisfy the eligibility criteria for both entrance process and admission process. All the participating institutes will be having their certain eligibility guidelines, which are to be fulfilled during the time of admission. Below we have given the UPCET 2021 eligibility criteria for the aspirants who wish to apply for the UPCET exam.

As per the UPCET Eligibility Criteria 2021 –

  • Age Limit – The exam conducting authorities have not set any age limit for candidates to appear for UPCET 2021
  • Nationality – As per UPCET eligibility criteria, a candidate should either be Indian nationals, NRIs, FNs and PIOs are eligible to apply.
  • The candidates applying must have qualified their class 10, class 12, bachelor’s degree (for post graduate courses), and diploma degree (for lateral entry aspirants) from any recognized board or institute.
  • Aspirants must have qualified with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Technical Vocational studies, and Engineering Drawing subjects with minimum required aggregate.
  • Also, the aspirants must have qualified the above mentioned exams individually as well with the minimum aggregate marks required, and not with grace marks.

UPCET Application Process 2021

Below we have given the detailed application process for the reference of the candidates looking to get admissions on the basis of their UPCET scores.

  1. The candidates needs to visit the official UPCET website – www.upcet.nta.nic.in 
  2. After clicking in on the link, the aspirants will be required to fill in the requisite details in order to register them for the process. 
  3. Candidates will also get the chance to change or edit the details provided by them after submitting the details required.
  4. Once the changes are made, and final registration is done, a unique application number and password will be generated which will be then communicated to the candidates via mail.
  5. To fill in the application form, the candidates will be required to log in the registration portal using the credentials created.
  6. The candidates will now require to fill in all the required personal and academic details, fill in exam centres choices, and upload the scanned images of the required documents in predefined format.
  7. The photograph must be less than 100 KB displaying the entire face taken on a white background while the signature must be less than 30 KB.
  8. After the payment of the application fee, the application process will be considered complete. The aspirants will be able to pay the fee using online mode of payment, i.e. via credit card, debit card, and net banking.
  9. Once the payment is made, the candidates will be redirected to a confirmation page window. After checking in the dialog box the candidates will confirm the submission of their application forms.
  10. It is advisable to all the aspirants to download their application form and keep it safe with them until the end of the admission process.

UPCET 2021 – Admit card

Until now, the exact dates for the release of the UPCET admit card has not been announced. Once the dates are finalised, NTA would publish it on their official website. Upon the availability, candidates can collect/download their respective admit cards by logging into https://upcet.nta.nic.in/.

After the UPCET admit card download link is made active, candidates have to follow the below-mentioned steps to download their admit cards:

  1. Visit the official website of UPCET – https://upcet.nta.nic.in/
  2. Click on the direct link given to download the hall ticket.
  3. Log into the online portal using your application number and date of birth.
  4. The UPCET admit card is displayed on the screen.
  5. The aspirants can then download and save their admit cards

UPCET 2021 – Syllabus

UPCET 2021 is conducted to shortlist the candidates for admission into various UG and PG level courses. The UPCET syllabus 2021 will vary for each course and the candidates are recommended to prepare as per the defined syllabus. Keeping abreast with the UPCET syllabus 2021 will help the candidates prepare strategically in sync with the course they have applied for.

UPCET 2021 – Guidelines for Exam Day

Candidates must follow the online test instructions and guidelines set by NTA authority. The test instructions will help the candidates to attempt the computer-based exam without any hassles. Given below is a list of online test instructions set by the NTA panel that candidates need to abide by:

  1. The candidate/s must report at the examination centre at least an hour before the allotted exam time.
  2. Candidates reporting after the reporting time mentioned in the hall ticket, will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.
  3. The candidate/s must compulsorily bring the admit card (hard copy). The test centre officials will verify it and then allow the candidate to sit for the examination.
  4. Bring along a valid photo identity (ID of College, Passport, Driving License, Aadhaar Card, Pan Card, Voters ID Card).
  5. Bring blue/black ballpoint pen and clipboard.
  6. Do not bring xeroxed admit cards as examination authority will scan the admit card through the barcode present in the original admit card.
  7. Duplicate UPCET admit cards would not be issued at the examination centres if the original admit card is torn or lost by a candidate.
  8. Admit cards must be in good condition. Dismantled, disfigured or mutilated admit cards compromising the details of the candidate will not be accepted.
  9. A seat with Roll Number will be allotted to each candidate. They should find and sit on their allocated seats only.
  10. No baggage is allowed inside the examination hall.

UPCET Cut off

The minimum marks required by the candidates to be eligible for admissions are the cut off marks. Aspirants looking to get admissions on the basis of their UPCET marks will be required to satisfy the cut off marks as defined by the conducting body. Below we have given the UPCET cut off for the reference of the candidates.

UPCET Result 2021

The schedule for UPCET result is announced after the exams are conducted successfully. Once the notification for the results is out, candidates can check their results online by using their roll number and date of birth.

UPCET Tie Breaking Policy

In case, two or more candidates secure the same marks, the university will follow a tie breaking protocol to ensure higher rank to one of them. The university will follow the below mentioned tie breaking policy. Firstly, the university will take in consideration the percentage of incorrect answers; candidates having less wrong answers percentage will be given preference. If the tie still persists, the university will follow different protocols for different courses as mentioned below-

For B.Tech, B.Tech (Bio-Tech), MCA (Integrated), and M Tech (Integrated) course:

  1. University will consider the marks obtained by the candidates in Mathematics and Physics section of Paper 1 respectively.
  2. If the tie remains unbreakable, the candidate older in age will be given preference.

For B.Pharma and B.Tech (Bio-Tech) courses:

  1. University will consider the marks obtained by the candidates in Biology and Chemistry section of Paper 2 respectively.
  2. If the tie remains unbreakable, the candidate older in age will be given preference.

For B.Arch courses:

  1. University will consider the marks obtained by the candidates in Drawing Aptitude, Mathematics and Aesthetics sensitivity section of Paper 3 respectively.
  2. If the tie remains unbreakable, the candidate older in age will be given preference.

For B.Des, BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, B.Voc, MBA, MBA (Integrated), MCA, and Lateral entry courses:

  1. The candidate older in age will be given preference.

After considering the above mentioned protocol, if the tie still persists, the university will give preference to the candidate having lower number of application forms.

UPCET 2021 – Counselling and Seat Allotment Process

Soon after the declaration of the UPCET result, the qualifying candidates will be then called for counselling and seat allotment process. The university will notify the short listed candidates about the counselling and seat allotment schedule via mail. Schedule for counselling for UPCET 2021 will also be updated on the official website of the university.

As soon as the schedule is announced, NTA will announce the same on the official website. Based on the availability of the seats, merit list, and cut off scores the counselling and seat allotment process will be concluded. Other than the factors mentioned, the university will also keep in consideration the reservation criteria during the seat allotment rounds. The reservation criteria (as defined by the University) is given below for the reference of the candidates –
