UPSEE Syllabus – Paper wise Syllabus, Preparation

The syllabus for UPSEE 2020 exam was released by the conducting body, i.e. Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), along with the release of the official notification for the exam. Aspirants willing to get admissions into the university on the basis of their UPSEE scores are advised to get familiar with the UPSEE 2020 syllabus for a better preparation. The UPSEE exam for the year 2020 is scheduled to be conducted on September 20, 2020. The exam was previously scheduled on August 2, 2020 but due to the spread of COVID-19 pandemic across the globe, the exam has been postponed. From the student point of view, COVID-19 has given them some more time for preparations. AKTU will conduct the UPSEE exam in both offline and online mode, varying from course to course. Below in this article we have given the detailed UPSEE Syllabus 2020 for the aspiring candidates. Thus, aspirants are advised to go through the complete article to know the detailed course wise syllabus for UPSEE 2020.

UPSEE Exam Date Announced: UPSEE 2020 will be held on September 20, 2020. The last date for submission of UPSEE online admission forms is May 31 (11:59 pm) and the deadline to make corrections in the online forms is June 3,2020 (11:59 pm).

This UPSEE syllabus was released by the Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) along with the release of the official announcement for the exam. Still, if any changes are made in the syllabus while announcement of the new date for the exam, the updated syllabus will be notified on this page.

UPSEE Syllabus for Paper 3 (Aptitude Test for Architecture & Design)

Section A (Aesthetic Sensitivity)

Visualizing three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings Visualizing different sides Surfaces of three dimensional objects Identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities.
Analytical Reasoning Mental Ability Imaginative comprehension and expression Architectural awareness

Section B (Drawing Aptitude)

  1. Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner
  2. Visualising and drawing the effects of light on the objects and their shadow cast on the surroundings.
  3. Sense of Perspective Drawing
  4. Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form
  5. Creating interesting two dimensional compositions using given shapes or planner forms
  6. Creating visual harmony using colors in given composition
  7. Understanding of scale and sense of proportion

UPSEE Syllabus for PAPER – 4 (Aptitude Test for General Awareness (BHMCT/BFAD/BFA/ Integrated MBA)

Reasoning & Logical Deduction

  1. Geometrical designs & Identification
  2. Selection of related letters / words / numbers /figures
  3. Identification of odd thing / item out of a group
  4. Completion of numerical series based on the pattern /logic
  5. Fill in the blanks of the series based on the numerical pattern and logic of the series
  6. Syllogisms (logic based questions), Identification of logic & selection of correct answers based on the logic

Numerical Ability & Scientific Aptitude

  1. Arithmetical questions up to 10th standard
  2. Calculation of fraction, percentages, square roots, etc.
  3. Profit & Loss and Interest calculations
  4. Data/Table analysis, Graph & Bar Diagram and Pie Chart analysis

UPSEE Syllabus – Preparation Tips

  1. Before proceeding with the preparations, the candidates must go through the syllabus thoroughly for the preferred course.
  2. After getting familiar with the subject wise syllabus, the aspirants must plan and schedule their preparations as to which topic requires more time and attention.
  3. Along with the syllabus, aspirants must also have a look at the exam pattern to understand the insights of the exam.
  4. Students should take mock tests and attempt sample papers, previous year questions papers, and other practice papers as a part of their preparation schedule as well.
  5. This will help them to get a better idea about the types of questions which will be asked in the exam.
  6. The candidates must evaluate their strengths and weaknesses in all the subjects, and plan their preparations accordingly.

Yes, the syllabus of mathematics will remain unchanged for all the papers.

Q. Does AKTU define a different exam pattern for all the papers?

Yes, the exam pattern for each paper of UPSEE 2020 will be different.

Q. Is it really beneficial taking the mock tests of UPSEE 2020?

Yes, the aspirants will get an idea about the structure of the paper after taking the mock tests. Aso, these mock test papers are beneficial in gaining the right speed to solve the maximum of the questions within the duration of the exam.

Q. Which books should I prefer to prepare for the UPSEE entrance exam for B.Tech admission?

You should count up on the NCERT text books of class 11th and 12th to prepare holistically for the exam.
