SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) is a university-level entrance examination for admission to B.Tech and B.Arch at all the six campuses of the SRM Group of Institutions. Candidates applying for B.Arch will have to submit their JEE Main Paper II score whereas B.Tech admissions will be granted on SRMJEEE score basis.
According to the latest official declaration, SRM University has cancelled the SRMJEEE for the year 2020. The candidates will now be granted admissions on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 or equivalent. Candidates must update the changes in their respective application forms at the earliest. Further, a candidate must go through the eligibility criteria of the university in order to apply for the courses offered. SRMJEEE – Changes in Exam Pattern

SRMJEEE – Campuses
The SRMJEEE is conducted to grant admission to aspiring candidates in various B.Tech and B.Arch programmes offered at the various campuses of the university. Given below is the list of institutes that are a part of the SRM University Group:

SRMJEEE – Eligibility
There is a set of eligibility requirements defined by the SRM Institute of Science & Technology. A candidate must go through the below given eligibility criteria before applying for the SRMJEEE-
1. Nationality: Any candidate including Indian nationals, NRI (Non Resident Indians)/PIO (Person of Indian Origin)/OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) can apply for the admission process. Foreign students are also eligible to apply for SRM admissions.
Note – Candidates falling under the category of NRIs, PIO or OCI must apply under the International student category only if they don’t appear for SRMJEEE 2020.
2. Age Limit: A candidate must have attained at least the age of 16 on the 31st July of the calendar year in which the SRMJEEE is to be held. The upper age limit for candidates is 21 years of age on the 31st July of the calendar year in which the SRMJEEE is to be held.
3. Education Qualifications: All the candidates who have passed 10+2 in not more than 2 attempts are considered for admission.
a). The minimum passing percentage required by each of the campuses of SRM is 50% in PCM*. Only for SRM Amravati, a candidate is required to have 60% marks in PCM* for admission.
b). Candidates who have completed their 12th from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are also eligible to apply for SRMJEEE if they have completed their Class 10 from regular schooling or vice-versa.
Note* – It’s compulsory for the B.Tech candidates to attempt the Mathematics section. On the other hand, the Biomedical Engineering candidates have to present their Biology marks in place of Mathematics.
4. Direct Admission: The university offers direct admission to candidates who have secured any of the following:
- First rank in CBSE 12th exams in India
- A rank among top 100 in IIT JEE Main/Advanced
- First rank in Tamil Nadu district board exam
- Sports participation certificate at National/International level
5. Qualification-wise Eligibility for International Students – The international candidates who possess International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A-level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/Botany & Zoology/Biotechnology as main subjects from any international school are eligible to apply.
SRMJEEE – Application Process
The application process for SRMJEEE has been extended till July 15, 2020, by the university. Candidates aspiring to apply for the entrance examination must follow the steps provided below:
- Go to the official website of the university
- On the website, register yourself
- Make sure to generate a password to login
- Log in using the email ID and password
- Fill in details asked in the specified columns of the application form
- Pay the application fee of Rs. 1,100/- through online mode
- Upload photo & signature in the application form as per specification.
- Submit the application form*
*In case a candidate wants to submit the application form through offline mode or pay the application fee offline, he/she needs to do the same in the form of a DD drawn in favour of SRMIST, payable at Chennai. But the offline process for SRMJEEE 2020 application submission is stopped due to nationwide lockdown in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
*The SRMJEEE 2020 stands cancelled in wake of the Covid 19 Pandemic, the admissions will now be granted to the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 or equivalent.

SRMJEEE – Slot Booking
Once the application submission process is complete, the university will provide the applicants with the facility of slot booking. All the candidates need to book a slot for SRMJEEE as per their convenience and availability of the slots. The slots for the following events can be booked using the slot booking facility of SRMJEEE :
- Test date
- Test time
- Venue of the entrance exam*
In order to book a slot for the examination, candidates need to visit the official website of the university. Next, login to the Online Test Booking System (OTBS) dashboard of the portal. Here, candidates can book a desired slot for the examination.

SRMJEEE – Admit Card
As soon as a candidate completes the slot booking process, he/she can immediately download the admit card of SRMJEEE. Every candidate must download this admit card or hall ticket as it is a mandatory document to carry to get a hassle-free entry in the exam hall. In order to download the SRMJEEE 2020 admit card, candidates need to log in to the official website using their email ID and password. Along with the hard copy of the admit card, a candidate must carry his/her Aadhar Card or any other government issued photo ID proof to the examination centre.
SRMJEEE – Exam Pattern
In order to prepare for the SRMJEEE 2020, candidates must be aware of the examination pattern. The details mentioned below also cover a few changes introduced in the pattern of examination for SRMJEEE 2020.

- Exam Duration: 02 hours and 30 minutes.
- Type of questions: Objective multiple-choice questions
- Marking scheme: +1 mark for every correct answer. No negative marking for an incorrect answer.

SRMJEEE – Mock Test
Mock tests for SRMJEEE 2020 are facilitated to candidates by the university itself. All the registered candidates willing to take the official mock test need to visit the official website of the university. The mock test for SRMJEEE 2020 will let a candidate understand the process and pattern in which the examination is conducted. In order to access the SRMJEEE 2020 mock test, candidates need to enter their registered email ID after entering the official SRMJEEE 2020 mock test webpage.

SRMJEEE – Result
The university will declare the result for SRMJEEE 2020 online at the official website i.e. https://www.srmist.edu.in/. SRM Institute of Science and Technology will declare the result tentatively in the second week of August 2020. All the candidates who take the SRMJEEE 2020 exam will have to login to the official website using their credentials to check the result. The SRMJEEE 2020 result will consist of important details including name of the candidate, roll number, candidate’s rank, overall & sectional score, and registration number. All the candidates who qualify the SRMJEEE 2020 will have to attend the counselling process in order to get a seat in the university.
*SRMJEEE 2020 is cancelled by the SRM University. Candidates will be admitted to the colleges through the marks obtained in 10+2 or equivalent.
SRMJEEE – Cutoff
The cutoff marks are the minimum marks scored by a candidate in order to qualify the examination. The opening and closing ranks for each campus of SRM University are announced separately by the authorities through cut off lists. SRMJEEE – Counselling
The counselling process for SRMJEEE 2020 is expected to begin from the second or third week of August 2020. The process will be carried out through both online and offline platforms. In order to attend the online counselling of SRMJEEE 2020, a candidate needs to apply for the same from the official website. Also, candidates need to download the Provisional Allotment Letter (PAL) in order to participate. Further, candidates need to produce the following documents to be verified by the authorities at the time of counselling.

- 10th standard marksheet
- SRMJEEE hall ticket 2020
- Marksheet of 12th class or equivalent
- Demand Draft (DD) should be drawn in favour of “SRMIST” payable at Chennai. DD for the tuition fee specified in the counselling letter.
Note – The applicable fee would be Rs 210,000 (Rs 10,000 Counselling Fee + Rs 200,000 First Year Tuition Fee), which can be deposited through EPay facility (online) or a DD.

✔️ How can a candidate apply for the SRMJEEE 2020?
A candidate can apply for the SRMJEEE 2020 by filling and submitting an application form either online or offline. However, the offline submission process has been abandoned by the conducting body due to nationwide shutdown.

According to the SRMJEEE exam pattern, two new sections i.e. English & Aptitude are added to the question paper. There will be no negative marking and 1 mark will be credited for each correct response.

No. As per the information brochure released by the SRM University, there will be no negative marking for the incorrect answers marked by candidates.

The syllabus of SRMJEEE 2020 will be as same as the JEE Main 2020. Candidates who are preparing for JEE Main can also appear for SRMJEE 2020 without any need of different preparation material.
