New Delhi, 21 July 2022: Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government has directed all the state universities in UP to charge a uniform examination fee for all undergraduate courses from this academic year onwards (2022-23).
This decision has been taken keeping in mind the recommendations under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The uniform examination fee will be payable every semester and will benefit the students pursuing undergraduate courses from various universities in Uttar Pradesh.

As per the official order, the government has decided to keep different examination slabs for various undergraduate courses on a semester basis.

- The official order stated that it is not fair to charge different examination fees to students pursuing undergraduate courses.
- The decision was taken by a six-member committee that was chaired by Special Secretary, Higher Education, Manoj Singh.
- As per the new uniform structure, state universities like Lucknow University and others in Uttar Pradesh will have to remove their increased examination fee and students will only be required to pay the amount as per their respective course slabs.
- For some courses, the examination fee reached up to Rs 3000.
