JoSAA 2022 Counselling Dates: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released its counselling schedule for 2022 on its official website: josaa.nic.in. All Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main and JEE Advanced qualified candidates are eligible to register for JoSAA 2022 counselling. The registration process will start on September 12, 2022. The last date for candidates to apply is September 21, 2022.
As per the official JoSAA 2022 counselling schedule, the counselling process will involve a total of six rounds for the distribution of seats. Broadly, there will be a few major stages in which all candidates must participate in order to secure seats in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and IITs. These stages are:ย

- Seat acceptance stage
- Online reporting stage

JoSAA 2022 Counselling Dates – Major Stages
Stage 1 – Registrationย
- Candidates must first go to the official website and visit the registration section in order to be eligible for other stages.
- Then, candidates must fill in all the required details in the registration section, following which they can select their choices in the choice filling section.
Stage 2 – Choice Filling for Academic Programmesย
- After completing the registration stage, candidates must move to the โChoice fillingโ section and indicate their academic preferences.
- Then, candidates must select the subject and college of their choosing at the choice-filling section in order to move to the next stage.
Stage 3 – Payment of Application Feeย

After choosing their preferred subject and college, candidates must pay their respective application fees.
- A link to submit the application fee will be made available as soon as candidates select their preferences.
- General candidates are required to pay a counselling fee of Rs. 45,000.
- The candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Caste (OBC)-Non Creamy Layer (NCL) categories have to pay Rs 20,000 as the JoSAA counselling fee.
Stage 4 – Seat Acceptance
- At this stage, the seat allocation list will be made public based on the subject and college choices made by the students during the choice-filling phase.
- The number of seats available for each programme, the institution’s cut-off score, and the candidate’s JEE entrance exam ranking will all be taken into account while allocating seats to candidates.ย
- Seats will be allocated only to those candidates who have paid the JoSAA counselling fee.
