The result of WBJEE is a consolidated score obtained by a candidate in both the papers. The first is Paper 1 (Mathematics) and the second is Paper 2 (Physics & Chemistry). As per the rank of candidates in the WBJEE, the board prepares a merit list on behalf of WBJEE member institutions. WBJEE Board generates majorly two types of merit lists. Candidates can check the brief information on the types of merit list below:
General Merit Rank (GMR) – It is prepared on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in both paper 1 and paper 2. The GMR is of use for the engineering/technology/architecture admissions in the state of West Bengal.
Pharmacy Merit Rank (PMR) – This rank list is prepared on the basis of marks secured in Paper 2 only. On the basis of PMR, only pharmacy seats in the colleges of West Bengal are filled, except for the seats in Jadavpur University.
Given below are the tie-breaking criteria for the merit lists prepared by the board. The tiebreaker method is applied if two or more candidates have the same score in the entrance test.
Tie-Breaking Rule for GMR: For GMR, the tie-breaking rule shall be applicable in the following order.

The cutoff or the closing marks at which different WBJEE participating institutions allot seats is decided by the board itself. The cutoff for WBJEE is the minimum qualifying marks which the candidates need to obtain in the entrance examination to qualify the same. The WBJEE board provides an opening and closing rank for the candidates on the basis of which admission process moves forward. There are some basic factors that affect the cutoff rank for WBJEE every year.
Every candidate should preserve the WBJEE 2020 rank card until the admission process gets over. This rank card is to be shown by candidates at the time of WBJEE counselling. If in case a candidate misplaces the rank card, he/she can apply for a new rank card within the sixty days after the declaration of WBJEE result 2020. The board charges a fee of Rs.500 via bank draft in the name of ‘West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board’ payable in Kolkata to issue a duplicate rank card of WBJEE.
As per the merit list prepared by the board, WBJEE counselling is the last step before admission confirmation. All the candidates eligible to participate in the counselling of WBJEE 2020 need to complete the online choice-filling (of their preference of colleges) before appearing for the counselling. Candidates need to be physically present for the final counselling process, document verification, seat allotment, and applicable fee payment for admission in the allotted college.
