According to the official sources from University Grants Commission(UGC), the pending emoluments to JRFs (Junior Research Fellows) and SRFs (Senior Research Fellows) will be disbursed in a week’s time. Rajnish Jain, UGC Secretary, recently notified that the disbursal of fellowship amounts were delayed due to some technical issues. He said-
“The technical issues which had delayed the disbursal have been resolved and along with the existing emoluments, the backlog would also be cleared and the fellowships would be deposited in the respective accounts within this week”.
The JRF scheme of the University Grants Commision is open for those candidates who secure qualifying marks in the National Eligibility Test-Junior Research Fellowship (NET-JRF) or the UGC-Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (UGC-CSIR) joint test. The tenure of scholarship is initially set for 2 years. The fellowship amount for JRF-NET qualifying candidates is INR 31,000/month whereas for the SRF-NET qualifying candidates, the fellowship amount is INR 28,000/month.
Last year, as many as 51,000 candidates qualified for the post of Assistant Professor, whereas 4,756 candidates successfully qualified the JRF NET-2019.
