Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will be declaring the RRB NTPC 2020 Result of Stage 1 examination after the examination is successfully conducted. As per the announcement by RRB, the RRB NTPC results will be made available in online mode on the official website and regional websites as well.

Candidates will be able to check their RRB NTPC result 2020 with the help of their registration number and password/date of birth. The exam conducting authority will release the scorecard along with the result in online mode.Β

RRB NTPC Answer Key 2020

The RRB authority releases the answer key a few days before the declaration of result on the official website. The answer key is categorised into 2 parts – preliminary and final answer key. Candidates can calculate their estimated scores with the help of their response sheets and preliminary answer key.

If they find the answers to one or more questions incorrect, they can submit objections against the preliminary answer key within a set time frame. Based on the objections filed against the preliminary answer key, the final RRB NTPCΒ  results are prepared. Candidates cannot raise objections against any question or answer in the final answer key.

The official RRB NTPC authority will release the result in online mode on the official website. To check and download the results, candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps:

  2. Click on the β€˜Results’ tab present on the homepage
  3. Click on the results link for β€˜RRB NTPC Result 2020’ flashing on the homepage
  4. The result will be available in PDF format. Candidates can search their roll numbers through Ctrl+F
  5. Enter the User ID/Registration Number and PasswordΒ 
  6. Click on Submit and download the scorecard

Stages of RRB NTPC Result 2020

As there are several stages of RRB NTPC examination, candidates will receive the RRB NTPC results separately for each one of them.

RRB NTPC Result (CBT 1)

The CBT 1 stage comprises three sections – General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and Mathematics. The total marks of the Stage 1 exam is 100. The normalized score of CBT 1 will be used to shortlist candidates for CBT 2, as per their merit.

RRB NTPC Result (CBT 2)

20 times more candidates than the number of category-wise vacancies will be selected for this stage. The eligibility of the candidates will be based on the candidate’s performance in the first stage. The score of candidates for this stage is calculated out of 120 marks. Candidates qualifying this stage will be shortlisted for document verification, Typing Skill Test/Computer-based Aptitude Test (as per the posts).

RRB NTPC Result 2020 (Computer Based Aptitude Test or CBAT)

8 times more candidates than the number of vacancies of Traffic Assistant (TA) or Station Master (SM), reserved for each of the communities i.e. UR, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and EWS (including ExSM), will be shortlisted for this stage.Β 

This will be a performance-based examination and the test will comprise several test batteries. To proceed to the next stage, candidates must qualify in each test battery. They need to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each test battery to qualify.Β 

The minimum qualifying marks are applicable irrespective of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PWBD/Ex-Servicemen. The merit list of SM/TA is drawn from among the candidates qualifying the CBAT by giving 70% weightage to CBT 2 and 30% weightage in CBAT.

RRB NTPC Result (Typing Skill Test (TST))

This test result is for those candidates who have given the test for the posts of:

  • Senior Clerk cum Typist
  • Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist
  • Senior Time Keeper
  • Junior Clerk cum Typist
  • Accounts Clerk cum TypistΒ 
  • Junior Time Keeper
  • Typing Skill Test (TST)

In this test, the marks are not added for preparing the merit list. CandidatesΒ  called for this stage are 8 times the number of vacancies. They are called on the basis of their performance in CBT 2.

Tie-breaking Rule for RRB NTPCΒ  Result

If two or more candidates end up securing the same score in the RRB NTPC result, the authority follows the below mentioned rules to choose the positions of the candidates –Β 

  1. Whoever obtains the highest total marks in RRB NTPC is given a higher position
  2. If the marks of the candidates are the same, the alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name is taken into account to break the tie.
  3. Finally, in case there is still a tie, the merit will be determined based on the age criteria. Simply put, older candidates will be placed at higher merit.

RRB NTPC Previous Years’ Cut Off
