IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection or IBPS has laid down a set of eligibility conditions for IBPS RRB IX which all aspiring candidates must fulfil to enter into the banking domain. As per the official notification released by IBPS, this year (2020-21), more than 9600 vacancies will be filled with Officers Scale I, II & III Officers and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). Candidates who fulfil the required IBPS RRB eligibility criteria can sit for the Prelims and Mains examination.
The IBPS authorities prescribe the eligibility criteria for the posts of Officers and Office Assistants in multipurpose roles. The IBPS RRB eligibility criteria are published annually by the IBPS. The eligibility of candidates is determined by factors like nationality, age, and education qualification.
Important Update
As per the official notification, the IBPS RRB 2020 Mains exam will be conducted on 30th January 2021 (Officer Scale – 1) and 20th February 2021 (Office Assistant).
The official IBPS RRB notification 2020 was released on 30th June 2020. Later, the notification was revised and was released on 22nd October 2020. The IBPS RRB online application process started from 1st July 2020 and continued till 21st July 2020.

The IBPS authority sets the IBPS RRB eligibility criteria based on 3 major factors –
As per IBPS RRB eligibility criteria, a candidate should either be an Indian citizen or citizen of the countries highlighted below.
The applying candidate must be either a:
1. Citizen of India
2. OR Subject of Bhutan
3. OR Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 intending to settle in India permanently
4. OR Subject of Nepal
5. OR Person of Indian origin who has migrated from:
Note: An eligibility certificate must be issued by the Government favouring the candidates belonging to the category number 2, 3, 4 and 5. The candidates have to produce a certificate of eligibility duly approved and signed from the Government of India during the IBPS RRB Interview.
Before applying for the different IBPS RRB posts, candidates should fulfil the important age limit eligibility norms. IBPS has set an upper and lower age limit for candidates who wish to appear for the IBPS RRB exam 2020-21.
Candidates should remember that the age limits of all the posts are different and they should check them carefully before applying for their preferred choices.

IBPS RRB Age Relaxation
The applicant should carefully check the IBPS RRB eligibility criteria if they fall under the respective age category before applying for any of the above posts. They can do so by following the official IBPS RRB notification. However, in certain cases, IBPS grants age relaxation to the candidates. Candidates can find below the age relaxation for different categories in the below table:

Candidates applying for the IBPS RRB exam 2020-21 must note that IBPS has laid down several educational conditions under IBPS RRB eligibility criteria. Criteria are dependent on posts for which each of the candidates are applying.
They must have the minimum educational qualifications from a recognized university board as indicated in the table below.

Candidates must note the following points regarding the IBPS RRB eligibility criteria:
This eligibility criterion is basically for the candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in India. The EWS category candidates are those candidates who have a gross family annual income of less than 8 lakh rupees and do not fall under the SC, ST, OBC categories.
The EWS candidates will get a benefit of 10% reservation for the IBPS RRB vacancies.
Any person or his/her family having the below-stated assets will NOT be included in the EWS category irrespective of their yearly family income as per the updated IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria.
As per the norms set by the Government of India, people with benchmark disabilities are eligible to receive added benefits. They are entitled under ‘The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016’ under Section 34.
