Pune University Invites Students to Apply For 280 Free Online Courses

New Delhi, 30 September 2022, Free Online Courses: The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is offering several online credit courses under the ‘Degree Plus’ programme through the Educational Multimedia Research Center (EMMRC) and the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC).

The ‘Degree Plus’ programme is for students who are currently pursuing Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) from recognized universities. The courses have been made available through tie-ups with educational organizations which include Harvard Business Online, Stanford University, Simply Learn, Celebrity School, and others.

Free Online Courses – Degree Plus

• ‘Degree Plus’ is an initiative of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) to develop the skills of its young graduates and make them ready for the future.
• Candidates can apply for the courses throughout the year.
• After completing the course, candidates can appear for an examination and will be granted a course completion certificate with credit marks.
• The students will be able to access the courses through video lectures and other study materials.
• The students will be given assignments and quizzes to complete within 24 hours.
• The courses are available on the SWAYAM portal and the official website of Degree Plus. 
• The online courses will be based on multiple disciplines, namely, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Management, Commerce, Physical Education, Pharmaceuticals, Science, Law and others.
• Through ‘Degree Plus’, students will be able to get updated knowledge in information technology, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, economics, etc.
• All the courses are available through online mode, out of which more than 250 are free of cost.
