New Delhi, 13 February 2023 – Bank of India Recruitment – Bank of India (BOI) has invited candidates to apply for the position of Probationary Officer (PO). Interested candidates can apply online at bankofindia.co.in. The application deadline is 25 February 2023.

There are a total of 500 vacancies that will be filled through this recruitment drive; 350 of them are for Credit Officer positions in the General Banking stream, and 150 are for IT Officer posts in the Specialist stream.

Bank of India Recruitment 2023 – Eligibility and Selection Process for the Post of Probationary Officer

Age LimitΒ 

Applicants for the position of Probationary Officer at Bank of India must be between the ages of 20 and 29.

Educational Qualification

  • A candidate for the position of Credit Officer in General Banking stream must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university or have an equivalent qualification.
  • A candidate for the position of IT Officer in Specialist stream must possess:
  • (a) A four-year Engineering/Technology degree in Computer Science/Computer Applications/Information Technology/Electronics/Electronics & Telecommunications/Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation

Selection Process

The selection procedure includes an online examination, a group discussion, and a personal interview.

  1. Online Examination

The candidates will be required to appear for the following tests:

  • β€œEnglish Language,” which will have 35 questions with a maximum score of 40. The test needs to be finished in 40 minutes.
  • β€œReasoning and Computer Aptitude” will have 45 questions with a maximum score of 60. The test will last 60 minutes.
  • β€œGeneral/Economy/Banking Awareness” will have 40 questions with a maximum score of 40. The test needs to be attempted in 35 minutes.
  • β€œData Analysis & Interpretation” will have 35 questions with a maximum score of 60. The exam has a time limit of 45 minutes.
  • β€œEnglish Descriptive paper (Letter Writing & Essay)” will have two questions with a maximum score of 25. The candidates will have 30 minutes to finish the test.

Note: One-fourth of the marks allotted to each question for which the candidate provided an incorrect answer will be deducted as a penalty.

  • All selected candidates will be interviewed in person by Bank of India. The total number of marks allotted for the interview will be 60.Β 
  • The minimum qualifying marks for General/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates will be 40%, and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/(Person with Disability) PWD candidates.
  1. Group Discussion
  • Candidates selected through an online test will participate in a group discussion at some selected centres. It will be worth 40 points in total.Β 
  • The minimum qualifying marks for General/EWS candidates will be 40%, and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.

Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance (PGDBF)

  • After the candidates are finalised, they must pass a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance (PGDBF) course before being inducted or absorbed into the bank.
  • The one-year PGDBF course costs INR 3,50,000 + GST. After five years of service as a regular employee with the Bank of India, the bank will reimburse the candidates for the total course fee.

  • The application fee is INR 175 for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

Step 1) Candidates need to visit Bank of India’s official website at bankofindia.co.in.


Step 2) Applicants must navigate to the bottom of the page and click on the “Career” link.

Step 3) Candidates will then be redirected to a new page where they must click on the link that reads β€œRECRUITMENT NOTICE.”

Step 4) Applicants must now click the β€œRecruitment of Probationary in JMGS-I upon passing Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Finance(PGDBF) Project No. 2022-23/3 Notice dated 01.02.2023” link.


Step 5) The screen will then display a PDF document. Candidates must hit the β€œCLICK” button in the document to start the registration process.



Step 6) A new page will appear on the screen, where candidates need to click on the link that reads β€œClick here for New Registration.”


Step 7) Candidates are now required to provide all the required information and documents to proceed further.


Step 8) Candidates must pay the application fee to complete the process. They may download the form for future reference.
