AP EAMCET Exam Pattern – Engineering, Agriculture-Medical Paper Marking

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) prescribes the AP EAMCET exam pattern for Engineering and Agriculture streams. As notified by the authority, no change in the paper pattern is recommended for the AP EAMCET exam this year. JNTUK is yet to declare the final schedule of the AP EAMCET 2020 exam through its official notification.

The AP EAMCET exam consists of two papers – Engineering and Agriculture & Medical. The AP EAMCET question paper for Engineering stream consists of 3 sections and the question paper for Agriculture stream contains 4 sections. The mode of exam for both the streams is online. The medium of the test is bilingual and the total exam duration is 3 hours. AP EAMCET Exam Pattern – Major Highlights

Some major points pertaining to AP EAMCET 2020 exam pattern are as under:

  1. AP EAMCET is a state-level exam to be held once a year
  2. Candidates seeking admissions in UG level engineering programmes and agricultural & medical programmes take the AP EAMCET exam
  3. The 3 sections that are included in the AP EAMCET Engineering stream question paper are Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. On the other hand, the AP EAMCET Agriculture paper comprises of 4 sections namely Zoology, Botany, Chemistry and Physics
  4. As per the AP EAMCET exam pattern, both the papers are available in English and Telugu or English and Urdu (at Kurnool centre only)
  5. The AP EAMCET question paper comprises of a total of 160 questions holding a weightage of 1 mark for each question
  6. All the questions are objective (multiple-choice) in nature with no negative marking for wrong/unattempted answers 
  7. Candidates must read the instructions carefully before the commencement of the exam 
  8. The questions in the exam are based on 10+2 level syllabus
  9. It is mandatory for the test takers to reach the exam centre 2 hours before the exam timing
  10. Candidates who give the qualifying examination (10+2) in Telugu medium may opt for English and Telugu paper while those whose medium was Urdu can choose English and Urdu paper
  11. In case a candidate marks an answer in both English and Telugu/Urdu, the answer given in English shall be considered during the evaluation 
  12. Candidates must obtain 25% of the total score in order to qualify the AP EAMCET exam. No minimum marks are set for those who belong to SC and ST category

AP EAMCET Exam Pattern – Instructions for Computer-based Test

Candidates must keep themselves updated about the guidelines of the online exam as directed by JNTUK. They can refer to the below-given instructions to avoid any inconvenience inside the examination hall:

Reporting-related instructions

  1. Candidates must visit the test centre at the given time with the AP EAMCET admit card and other important documents.
  2. Biometric verification and other pre-examination formalities are initiated by the concerned authorities before the candidates’ entry inside the exam hall.

Login-related instructions

  1. The test takers are directed towards the allotted computer system where their photograph and other details are visible
  2. Ten minutes prior to the examination, the invigilator directs the candidates to enter their admit card number and password (shared by the invigilator only) so as to login to the online test

Examination-related instructions

  1. Exam-related instructions will flash on the screen once the test takers successfully log into the online exam dashboard 
  2. The test takers are allowed to seek help from the invigilator in case of any trouble or doubt before the commencement of the exam. Once the test begins, the invigilator is not liable to answer the queries of the candidates
  3. Candidates must read the instructions carefully and click on the β€˜next’ button to proceed further
  4. Once the test takers tap on β€˜I am ready to login’ tab, the exam will begin
  5. After hitting the login button, the countdown will begin and the test takers can see the remaining time at the top right corner of the screen
  6. As soon as the timer reaches zero, the test will get stopped automatically, whether or not the candidates have completed the exam. The system will save the answers of the attempted questions
  7. Candidates have to select one section from PCM or BiPC and start the test. Note that section can be altered anytime
  8. The question paper is available in either English or Telugu language at a time
  9. Candidates can answer questions from a particular section in any order as per their convenience. For this, they only need to keep their eye at the right hand corner of the screen for choosing the questions
  10. The β€˜Save & Next’ button is available at the end of every question
  11. β€˜Mark for Review and Next’ tab is available to recheck the answers
  12. β€˜Zoom In’ or β€˜Zoom Out’ options are meant for changing the font size of the questions
  13. In the end, the system will display the statistics of the questions attempted, not attempted, answered, not answered, marked for review etc. Candidates need to give their confirmation by tapping on the β€˜Yes’ button

AP EAMCET exam is conducted in two streams – Engineering and Agriculture & Medical. As per the AP EAMCET exam pattern, the Engineering stream paper contains a total of three sections – Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry while Agriculture & Medical paper comprises four sections namely Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and Physics.

The time allotted for AP EAMCET exam is 180 minutes or 3 hours for each paper. No extra time is given to the test-takers under any circumstances.

AP EAMCET exam is conducted in online mode. Candidates must be aware of the basic operations of the computer to appear for the test.

βœ”οΈ What is the marking scheme of the AP EAMCET exam?

According to the AP EAMCET exam pattern and marking scheme, test-takers will get one mark for every correct answer. There will be no negative marking for incorrect responses. Also, for unattempted questions, the authority will not deduct any marks. 

βœ”οΈ What are the criteria of qualifying marks in the AP EAMCET exam?

Candidates are required to score at least 25% of the total marks to qualify AP EAMCET 2020. Hence, candidates need to score at least 40 marks to satisfy the AP EAMCET qualifying cutoff. However, no criteria for qualifying marks are defined for SC and ST candidates.
