Acknowledging the students, the Union Minister said, “The morale, patience and strength with which students have appeared for exams this year certainly serves as a great example in the whole world, especially because our country has more than a thousand universities, 50,000+ degree colleges, 1.10 crore teachers, and 15 to 16 lakh students. The total strength of our students (at all education levels) is 33 crore which is more than the population of USA.”

He further talked about Prime Minister’s vision of Digital India and how it came into actuation during the COVID-19 times. He recognized that “there are several students in our country who are still devoid of smartphone and internet facilities” and noted that the Ministry helped these children through the medium of dedicated DTH education channels on television, and radio.

The Minister ended the webinar by wishing luck to the students who will appear for their board exams in 2021. Noting that the CBSE syllabus has already been reduced by 30% and there is not an extended timeline of boards in 2021, he encouraged the students to stay motivated and prepare well and wished them a happy new year.
