CBSE Term-2 Exams From April 26, Practical Exams from March 2

New Delhi, 25 February 2022 – As the Supreme Court has refused to entertain the plea to cancel Class 10 and Class 12 board exams 2022, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be conducting CBSE board exams 2022 as planned from 26 April 2022. The board has also confirmed that CBSE Class 10 and 12 practical exams would begin from 2 March 2022.

Schools affiliated to CBSE are required to conclude the practical examination 10 days before the end of the respective classes’ theory examination. While the board has confirmed that the theory exam will be conducted from April 26, a detailed date sheet for the same is still awaited and will be released soon by the board on its official website – https://www.cbse.gov.in/

CBSE Term-2 Board Exams 2022 – Practical and Internal Exams Guidelines

  • For Class 10 students, the internal examination would be conducted by their respective schools and the marks would be uploaded to CBSE.
  • The practical exam for these students will also be conducted as per the curriculum designed for Term-2 exams.
  • For Class 12 candidates, external examiners would be assigned and the practical exams will be conducted in the schools. All schools are instructed to follow all COVID-related protocols during the same.
  • For the private candidates, no practical examination would be conducted. They will be allotted marks as per their result in the 2020-21 examination
  • For private candidates who appeared for the examination before 2020-21, marks would be allotted on a pro-rata* basis.
  • Answer books will be supplied by regional offices and schools have to ensure that these are filled correctly.
  • Examiners will be assigned by CBSE and schools cannot make alternative arrangements.
  • The schools will provide internal examiners, while the board will send an observer and an external examiner.
  • The dates for the practical examination will not be set by the board and schools will decide a date by consulting with external examiners.

*If something is given out to people on a pro rata basis, it means assigning an amount to one person according to their share of the whole. In case of the CBSE practical exams for private students, they will be given marks based on how they performed in internal and/or external examinations.
