KCET Result – Rank Allotment
On the basis of the performance in Karnataka CET 2021 and the qualifying examination, a merit rank will be allotted to the test takers individually. Candidates are called for the counselling process based on their merit position allotted by KEA. Usually, the merit rank is numeric in nature. However, there can be cases when the candidate may find ‘G55, G44, G33, …’ mentioned along with the rank.
KCET Result – Reasons for Non-Allotment of KCET Rank
There can be instances when the KEA does not allot any rank at the time of the release of KCET result. KEA does not assign the rank to candidates in any of the following cases:
- When a candidate has marked the wrong version code
- Where there is a change in qualifying exam marks due to revaluation
- When a candidate has not submitted the qualifying exam marks
KCET Result – What does ‘G55, G44, G33, …’ mean as KCET rank?
Along with the announcement of the KCET result, some candidates may not get a rank allotted due to any of the reasons mentioned above. KEA uses a series to allot ranks to such candidates. However, allotment of fresh ranks is to be done in such a way that the ranks of other candidates are not affected. Therefore, the KEA uses specific characters (G 55, G 44, …) for the allotment of apt ranks.
For example, if the rank as per the performance of a candidate (after the issue due to which the student was not allotted a rank has been resolved)lies between 1234 and 1235, the candidate will be allotted a rank 1234 with the suffix ‘G55’. Similarly, if the rank of another candidate lies between 1234 and 1234 G55, KEA will allot the candidate with 1234 G 44 rank.
