Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has released the much awaited paper-wise schedule for the GATE 2021 on its official website. Candidates must check the schedule on the official website – gate.iitb.ac.in. The exams for 27 papers will be conducted in the course of six days – 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 February 2021. It is also the first time when the students will be allowed to appear for more than one paper on a single day. GATE 2021 will be conducted in 2 sessions – Forenoon and Afternoon on each of the exam days.
GATE 2021 registration commenced from September 11, 2020. The GATE 2021 admit cards are expected to be released on 8th January 2021 at the official website gate.iitb.ac.in. Along with notifying the schedule, IIT Bombay has also announced the addition of 2 new subjects in the GATE exam from this academic year- Environmental Science & Engineering (ES) and Humanities & Social Sciences. Thus, there will be a total of 27 papers from this year instead of 25. The exam authorities have also announced a slight change in the eligibility criteria. Students, in their 3rd year of graduation degree, can also appear for the exam from this year onwards.

GATE 2021 is conducted with the collaborative cooperation of the seven esteemed IITs (Roorkee, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Chennai and Mumbai along with Indian Institute of Science (IISc). GATE scores are accepted by top universities across India for admissions in M.Tech and PHd courses. Additionally, various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) including the likes of IOCL, ONGC and NTPC consider the GATE scores for the recruitment of engineers for their executive posts.
