TN 12th Result 2021 – Evaluation Criteria Released; Students to be Marked on 50:20:30 formula 

New Delhi, 28 June 2021 – The Tamil Nadu (TN) government has announced the evaluation criteria for the Class 12 Tamil Nadu Board Result 2021. On Saturday evening, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin formally released a statement announcing that along with the cancellation of TN 12th Board exams this year, the Class 12 result will be evaluated on the 50:20:30 formula. The schools will form the final results based on the final Class 10 exams (best 3 subjects), Class 11 written exams, and marks scored in Class 12 practicals and internals. 

Note – TN Class 12 Result 2021 is scheduled to release by 31st July 2021.

TN 12th Result 2021: Evaluation Criteria

Earlier, the TN government cancelled the Class 12 board examinations 2021 due to COVID-19. Later, a 10-member committee was formed that recommended the evaluation criteria. 

According to the approved and released evaluation criteria, the Tamil Nadu Class 12 Result 2021 will be based on performances in Class 10, Class 11, and Class 12. TN schools will be following the released evaluation formula in the ratio of 50:20:30. 

  1. The highest weightage will be given to Class 10 board exam marks, which will carry 50% weightage of the total marks. The best of the three subjects will be considered in this case.
  2. 20% weightage will be given to marks scored in Class 11.
  3. Class 12 internal marks will have a 30% weightage in the overall Class 12 result assessment.

  • If any student did not appear for the Class 12 practical exams due to COVID-19, his/her Class 11 practical exam marks will be taken into consideration. 
  • For those who did not appear for both Class 12 practicals and Class 11 practicals, the marks scored in Class 10 and Class 11 written exams will be taken into consideration.
  • Students who feel that they have scored less marks than what was calculated via Tamil Nadu Class 12 evaluation criteria will be allowed to appear for the offline/written examination.

Although no specific dates for the written exam have been put up by the Tamil Nadu government, the officials of the TN board stated that the exam will be conducted once the pandemic subsides. The timetable for this examination will be announced later.
