Highlights of JEE Main Counselling Process 2021
JEE Main counselling is conducted by 3 main bodies – JoSAA, CSAB NEUT and CSAB SFTI. The counselling process of both CSAB NEUT and CSAB SFTI is similar to that of JoSAA.
1. JoSAA is responsible for the counselling process of both the JEE Main and JEE Advanced eligible candidates. JoSAA is the common portal for admission into any of the 106 NITs, IIITs, IITs, GFTIs.
2. After JoSSA, the next important seat allocation board that the students must know about is the CSAB or the Centralized Seat Allotment Board. The CSAB conducts admissions into NIT, IIIT and CFTIs for candidates who have a valid JEE Main scorecard but are not eligible for the JoSSA counselling.
The CSAB 2021 will be conducted separately for 3 channels:
1. CSAB NEUT (Centralized Seat Allotment Board for North Eastern States and Union Territories) is a counselling process specifically meant for the supernumerary (vacant) seats in the 12 North-Eastern states and Union territories including:

Meghalaya |
Sikkim |
Dadra & Nagar Haveli |
Arunachal Pradesh |
Mizoram |
Tripura |
Daman & Diu |
Manipur |
Nagaland |
Andaman & Nicobar Islands |
Lakshadweep |
Note: CSAB NEUT counselling process is now expected to commence in the 2nd or 3rd week of July 2021 (tentatively).
2. CSAB SFTI is conducted by the Centre Seat Allocation board specifically for the 18 SFTIs (Self Financing Technical Institutes) throughout the country. The CSAB SFTI conducts the seat allocation process based on the candidate’s order of preference based on their JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) in Paper I and Paper 2 respectively.
3. CSAB UT is conducted to provide admissions to those candidates who have the state eligibility of Union Territories (Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep & Khandvi, Andaman & Nicobar, Dadar and Nagar Haveli).
Note: The application form of CSAB UT 2021 is expected to be available from the second week of August (tentative).
