The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the IBPS SO exam annually. By qualifying the different stages of this IBPS recruitment test, candidates can expect to get recruited in various posts like that of Sales Officer, HR/Personnel or Management Officer, Field Officer, Marketing Officer, Law Officer, IT Officer, etc. in participating banks across India.
This year, the IBPS SO prelims exam will be conducted in over 200 cities across India and the mains will be conducted in more than 100 cities. The exam will be conducted in CBT or Computer Based Test mode. The prelims question paper will contain 150 questions and the candidates will be given 120 minutes to attempt all the questions.

As per IBPS SO eligibility criteria, a candidate should either be an Indian citizen or a citizen of the countries highlighted below.
The applying candidate must be either a:

IBPS SO – Application Form
IBPS SO application form was released on 3rd November 2021. The online registration process is expected to be a lengthy process as the number of vacancies is 1828 and application submission for the same will be more than lakhs (predictable). Besides, the last date to submit the IBPS SO registration form (online) was 23rd November 2021.
IBPS SO application process 2021 comprises online registration, application and fee payment. The foremost thing candidates need to do is register themselves for the exam. They need to visit the official IBPS SO website, register themselves, fill up the application form and submit it after paying the application fee.
Candidates have to pay their application fee via online mode [Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/Master Card/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets]. The last date to pay the online IBPS SO application fee is also 23rd November 2021.

IBPS SO – Admit Card
The IBPS SO Prelims admit card has already been released on 10th December 2021. Candidates can collect/download their respective admit cards by logging into www.ibps.com. They require to follow the below-mentioned steps to download their admit cards:
- Visit the official website of IBPS – www.ibps.in
- Click on the provided link stating ‘CRP Specialist Officers call letter’ to download IBPS SO admit card 2021
- Read IBPS SO exam day instructions carefully and click on ‘Yes’ tab
- Enter roll number/registration number, date of birth/password and captcha code
- The admit card will be displayed on the screen
- Download and take a printout of the admit card 2021
Note: For any error in the IBPS SO admit card (incorrect information, spelling mistake, etc.), candidates must contact the given helpline numbers 1800 222 366 OR 1800 103 4566 between 09:30 AM to 06:00 PM on all days except Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays, as applicable in Maharashtra State.
IBPS SO – Guidelines for Exam Day
Candidates must follow the online test instructions and guidelines set by UGC NET authority. The test instructions will help the candidates to attempt the computer-based exam without any hassles. Given below is a list of online test instructions set by the IGNOU panel that candidates need to abide by:
- The candidate/s must report at the examination centre at least an hour before the allotted exam time
- Candidates reporting 30 minutes after the reporting time mentioned in the hall ticket, will not be allowed to enter the examination hall
- The candidate/s must compulsorily bring the admit card (hard copy). The test centre officials will verify it and then allow the candidate to sit for the examination.
- Admit cards must be in good condition. Dismantled, disfigured or mutilated admit cards compromising the details of the candidate will not be accepted
- A seat with Roll Number will be allotted to each candidate. They should find and sit on their allocated seats only
- No baggage is allowed inside the examination hall
What to carry inside the IBPS SO exam centre?
Candidates are advised to bring the following documents to the examination hall. Without these documents, candidates won’t be allowed to enter the examination venue.
- A hard copy of Admit Card
- Photo ID proof*
- Xerox of ID proof
- 2 passport-sized photographs

IBPS SO – Mandatory COVID-19 Guidelines
- Social distancing would be maintained strictly at the exam centres. Candidates have to maintain at least 6 feet or 2-metre distance from other candidates.
- Exam authority will ensure that monitor, keyboard, mouse, webcam, desk, chair, etc. are thoroughly sanitised.
- A significant gap has to be present between two seats inside the exam hall.
- Hand sanitisers would be present at the entrance door and various places inside the exam centre for both candidates and the staff.
- Invigilators will distribute rough sheets to candidates wearing gloves.
- To avoid crowding, exam room numbers would not be displayed outside the centre.
- Candidates violating COVID-19 directives/advisories would not be allowed to sit for the exam
- Candidates would be allowed to leave the test centre one at a time to avoid the rush and maintain social distancing.
IBPS SO – Exam Centres
IBPS SO exam will be conducted in more than 200 cities. Most exam centres are present in district headquarters and major cities. To make things easier, IBPS conducts the examination across all the cities in India via online mode.
The exam centre allotted to each candidate will be printed on their respective admit cards. Please note that the candidates cannot make the changes once the preferred centres are submitted by them during the application process.

IBPS SO – Answer Key
IBPS will release the preliminary answer key on the official IBPS website after the exams are conducted. Candidates can download the answer key in the form of a PDF. They can calculate their probable scores with the help of the answer key and response sheet, much before the results are declared.
IBPS SO – Cut Off
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection authority publishes the IBPS SO cutoff after the results are announced. Candidates who qualify as per the cutoffs are eligible to take part in the Mains exam. The number of candidates selected for the Stage 2 CBT RRB NTPC exam is 20 times more than the number of actual vacancies. When the Mains test is complete, the candidates shortlisted in that round become eligible to move forward to the Interview round.
