Law School Admission Council is conducting LSAT India as a Remote Proctored Test (RPT) on 19, 20, 21, 22, and 26 July 2020. LSAC has shifted the mode of conduct of LSAT India 2020 from pen & paper-based mode to RPT, keeping in mind the safety of examinees amid COVID-19. Candidates can choose their desired slot to appear for LSAT India on any of the exam dates.
Candidates can download the LSAT India admit card by visiting the official LSAC application portal @ discoverlaw.in. The slot booking for LSAT India is now over. Candidates who missed the slot booking have been allotted a slot randomly by the conducting body.
LSAT India score of a law aspirant is valid in 53 law colleges in India for the 5-year UG law, 3-year UG law and one year PG law programmes. While taking the LSAT India RPT, candidates have to answer approximately 92 questions from four different sections. All the four sections will have a sectional time limit of 35 minutes each. Important Update- The Law School Admission Council has announced that the LSAT 2021 will be conducted on 10th May 2020. The application window opens from 9th November 2020 and deadline for filling the application form is 20th April 2021.

LSAT India – Eligibility Criteria
The Law School Admission Council does not define any particular eligibility criteria for taking the test. However, candidates need to abide by the eligibility conditions of their preferred institute/s accepting LSAT India score. The basic eligibility criteria for UG law admission in India are as follows:
- Candidates belonging to UR/OBC (unreserved) categories have to obtain a minimum of 45% in class 12th
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories will have a relaxation of 5%, i.e. 40% is the minimum marks requirement for them
- There is no age limit to pursue a law programme in India
LSAT India – Application Form
Candidates were able to fill and submit the LSAT India 2020 application form until July 10. Steps, as mentioned below, have to be followed for the application form fillup.
Step 1 – Registration
- Complete the registration process by providing your email ID and creating a password at the official website of LSAT
- Verify your email by using the validation link received on your email
Step 2 – Filling details in LSAT India Application Form
- Fill your personal details including name, date of birth, gender, category and more
- Provide your contact information including phone number, address, email ID, etc.
- Enter your academic credentials
- Enter your parent’s name and occupation along with their contact details
Step 3 – Payment of Application Fee
Candidates have to pay an amount of Rs. 3,800 (irrespective of the category or gender) as the LSAT India application fee.
LSAT India – Admit Card
Candidates are able to download the LSAT India admit card until the exam date. In order to obtain the LSAT India 2020 admit card, candidates have to access the login portal using their user ID and password.
It is mandatory for the candidates to show their valid photo ID card and admit card on the day of the test.
Note: Candidates have to use their email ID and password for entering the login window of the RPT dashboard and begin the entrance test.

LSAT India – Do’s and Don’ts
Candidates have to follow the below mentioned guidelines on the day of the remote proctored test:
- No breaks will be allowed during the LSAT India online exam
- You will not be able to access a section once its 35 minutes of sectional time limit ends
- You can review the answers during the allotted sectional time only
- You must disable the pop-up blockers from your web browser while taking LSAT India
- You must grant permission to the LSAT exam site to access your camera and microphone
- You must disable all the web sharing applications from the windows task manager of your system
- Make sure to appear 30 minutes before the exam time for the verification purpose
- Keep a valid government-approved ID with a recognizable photograph handy
- Photocopies, notarized copies, and learner’s driving license are unacceptable as ID proofs
- You are not allowed to speak aloud or leave the room during the test
- Do not use a mobile phone or any other gadgets, else the proctor may cancel your score on the grounds of misconduct
- Do not connect or disconnect any external storage devices
- Do not copy the test questions or record the screen
- In case of technical issues, the system will save the test progress and pause the test until the issue gets resolved. However, if the issue prevails for more than 30 minutes, you will be unable to take the test on the same day

LSAT India – Result
Law School Admission Council will release the LSAT India result soon after the exam has been conducted. Candidates can check the LSAT India result using their login credentials @ discoverlaw.in. Candidates will receive the scaled scores between 420 – 480, and score band. Also, candidates will be able to view their percentile rank in the LSAT India result card.

LSAT India – Scholarships
LSAC Global provides two scholarships, out of which one is awarded to the highest scorer of the LSAT India. INR 4,00,000 are awarded to LSAT India topper under the scholarship programme named ‘Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship’. This scholarship has the following features:
- Covers the tuition and residence fees for the first year of the law programme
- The unutilized amount from the first year (if left) will be rolled over to compensate for the expenses of the second year
The second scholarship under ‘Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship’ is awarded on the basis of an essay competition. Test-takers who are interested to participate in this contest-based scholarship need to submit their essay via email. Candidates must write an essay in which they argue for or against the following claim, while providing adequate reasons.
Claim – “Having a legal professional class (lawyers, judges, etc.) characterized by diversity of gender, caste, wealth status, language, and regional identity makes for a more just legal system”
- The essay must not exceed the count of 1200 words

Candidates must not worry in case of connectivity issues or power breakdowns. LSAC provides the candidates the facility to reconnect and re-login to resume the exam from where they left. However, this facility is only available within 30 minutes of an internet or power breakdown. If the idle time exceeds 30 minutes, then the test is rescheduled and candidates are notified about the same via email.
