New Delhi, 15 June 2021 – After the postponement of SBI Clerk Prelims 2021, it is expected that the SBI Clerk Mains exam will also get delayed. The SBI Prelims examination was scheduled to be conducted in June as per the earlier timetable. However, it was deferred till further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, in view of the ongoing pandemic situation, experts are assuming that the postponement of the SBI Clerk (Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales)) Main examination may also be on the cards.
SBI Clerk 2021 – What Happened Earlier?
On 31st May 2021, SBI had officially announced the postponement of its SBI Clerk preliminary exam. An official notice regarding the same was issued the same day.
The SBI Clerk exam 2021 was initially scheduled to be conducted in June 2021. In addition, the SBI Clerk Main exam was scheduled to be held on 31st July 2021.
Later, SBI further clarified that the examination would only be conducted after the pandemic situation comes under control. As a result, the new examination date would be announced by the exam conducting authority (SBI) in due course.
SBI Clerk 2021 – Tentative Exam Dates
As per experts’ opinions, there is a possibility that SBI can still conduct the Clerk Main examination on 31st July, provided the preliminary examination is conducted in the first week of July. However, several sources have stated that if the number of COVID-19 positive cases increases in the country, the SBI Clerk Main exam may get shifted to mid-August.
About SBI Clerk 2021
SBI organizes the SBI Clerk exam every year to recruit eligible applicants for the post of Junior Associate. This year, SBI has announced 5237 open vacancies for clerical posts. The SBI Clerk application process commenced on 27th April 2021 and concluded on 27th May 2021.
The selection for the Junior Associate posts is based on the candidates’ performance in preliminary, main, and opted local language examinations. The candidates who will be selected and recruited by SBI will receive up to Rs. 47,920 as a monthly salary with a starting basic pay of Rs. 19,900.
There is no clarity as to when the examination may actually be conducted this year. So, candidates are requested to visit the official website of SBI and keep an eye on any updates regarding the new date.
