New Delhi, 16 August 2022 – The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) and the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) have launched an online platform to offer free GATE 2023 coaching to candidates aspiring to crack the exam.ย
The GATE coaching portal available on NPTEL is a one-stop solution to offer free coaching to students, deliver video lessons, provide practice/mock tests, and give online support to more than 9 lakh students who will be appearing for the GATE exam next year.

Free GATE 2023 Coaching – Details
- NPTEL has launched the portal in collaboration with IIT-M to guide and help GATE aspirants. The portal will prepare candidates for the GATE 2023 exam and create a level playing field by providing equal educational opportunities to students.
- Initially, a large number of students sent daily queries to the government regarding the preparation for the exam.ย
- After receiving several queries from all over India, NPTEL decided to create a free GATE 2023 coaching portal that will assist learners in preparing for the exam.
- The idea to create a comprehensive one-stop platform for exam preparation then popped up, which would cover everything from concepts to tricks for cracking GATE 2023.ย
- NPTEL and IIT-M created the portal to aid students around the country.ย
- Then, NPTEL also added live mentoring sessions to the portal, which enabled active learning for GATE aspirants.
- Therefore, GATE 2023 aspirants will now be able to prepare for the exam without resorting to expensive coaching.ย
- As the portal is free-to-use, it is estimated that it will accelerate positive social impact and create equal opportunities to all students from underserved and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

About GATE 2023 Exam
The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur will conduct the GATE 2023 exam in February 2023. The registration portal for the exam will be opened on 30th August 2022. The application deadline for GATE 2023 is 30th September 2022 (with no late fee). Candidates with late fees will be able toย apply by 7th October 2023.

When will the GATE 2023 exam be held?
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023 exam will be conducted on 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th February 2023 in online mode. The exam will be held in the computer-based test (CBT) mode for 29 papers in two sessions (forenoon and afternoon).
