GATE Registration
IIT Bombay, the conducting authority for GATE 2021, recently released a notification regarding the schedule of the GATE 2021. The registration process will be conducted in online mode through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) from 11th September 2020. The deadline for filling the registration forms is 30th September 2020. Also, the GATE 2021 will now be held from 5th February 2021 to 14th February 2021. It must be noted that only those candidates, who satisfy the GATE eligibility criteria, will be able to apply and appear for the exam. Thus, the aspirants are advised to go through the eligibility criteria defined for the exam thoroughly before registering themselves.
Candidates will be required to fill in and submit their application forms on or before the last date of submission, which is likely to fall in the last week of September 2020. Aspirants who qualify the GATE exam will be eligible for admissions into various IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and various PSUs recruitments. Important Update- IIT Bombay recently released a notification on their official website- gate.iitb.ac.in regarding the schedule for the GATE 2021. The registration process commences from September 11 2020 through GOAPS. The deadline for the GATE 2021 registration is 30th September 2020. The GATE 2021 exam will be conducted on the 5,6,7,12,13 and 14th February 2021 respectively.
The official dates for GATE registration and other exam-related events for 2021 are yet to be announced by the concerned authorities. For now, aspirants can go through the tentative dates given below for reference. As soon as the official dates are announced, we will update this page.

As discussed above, GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) facilitates the candidates to register for GATE exam. Applicants must fill in and submit their application forms on or before the last day of submission. Applications submitted after the last day of submission will not be entertained and considered valid by the authorities. Also, before proceeding with the application process, the candidates must ensure that they fall within the defined eligibility parameters for the exam. Ineligible candidates will not be considered for the exam and admission process, and the authorities may also forfeit their admissions at any given point of time.
In order to apply and register for GATE 2021, the candidates have to follow the below mentioned steps-
1. Visit the GATE Online Application Process (GOAPS) to register for GATE 2021.
2. Register using your name, country of residence, email address and mobile number.

3. After successful registration, unique log in credentials (enrollment ID and password) will be generated. Keep these credentials safe for future admission processes.
4. After registration, the GATE application form will be generated. Login to the online portal again using these credentials to proceed with the application form filling process.

4. Fill in all the required personal and academic details and your desired choices for GATE papers and two preferred exam centres.
5. Now, upload the scanned copies of your passport size photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable) in the predefined format.
6. The last step is the payment of the application fee. The application fee is to be paid via online mode of payment, i.e. using credit card, debit card, or net banking.

The following documents will be required by the aspirants to upload during the application process-
In order to check their GATE application status, the candidates will be required to login to GOAPS using their registered credentials. After logging in, if the status says ‘Under Scrutiny/Under Process’, it means that the authorities are scrutinizing the application forms. This scrutiny process will take a few days after the completion of the application process. After the rectification of the photograph, signature, and uploaded documents, the authorities will send a confirmation of successful submission to the candidates via mail or SMS.
If in case, any candidate commits any mistake while filling in the details or uploading the required documents or is willing to change any submitted information, he/ she can access the correction window. In order to correct or rectify, the candidates can simply login to GOAPS using their credentials and make the needed changes. The correction window will be available tentatively as follows –

IIT Bombay will be conducting the GATE exam for the year 2021.
The application forms for GATE 2021 will be available from 11th September 2020.
The application forms are to be filled via GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). It must be noted that no other portal will be made available for GATE registrations.
In the last week of September 2020, expectedly, the authorities will close the registration window. Candidates can submit their forms till the first week of October 2020 with INR 500 as late fees.
The GATE application fee will vary as per the category and location of the exam centre. Applicants who choose GATE exam centres in India need to pay Rs. 1500 (General Category) and Rs. 750 (Reserved Category). The application fee for GATE registration outside India is USD 100 for Singapore and Dubai and USD 50 for Addis Ababa, Kathmandu, Colombo and Dhaka.
