Preparation of AILET Merit List
NLU Delhi will release the merit list in multiple rounds depending upon the vacancy after each seat allotment round. For instance, if the general category seats for the B.A. LL.B course are 50 in number, NLU Delhi will shortlist the top 50 merit holders from the general category. Similarly, if the SC category has a category reservation of 15 seats, NLU Delhi will shortlist the top 15 SC category candidates on the basis of their performance in the AILET 2020.
If the seats remain vacant after the first round seat allotment, NLU Delhi will release a second merit list for the respective category to invite candidates for admission.
If two or more candidates get the same AILET score, NLU Delhi follows specific criteria to break the tie between/amongst candidates. The tie-breaking criteria for AILET UG 2020 are as follows
For breaking a tie incase of LL.M and PhD courses, the marks in the qualifying examination are considered as the tie-breaking criteria. Candidates with a higher score will be given preference over the other candidate.
Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will be eligible to participate in the AILET counselling and the seat allotment process. Eligible candidates have to report at the counselling venue as per the schedule along with relevant documents. Officials from NLU Delhi will verify the documents of the candidates to generate a provisional seat allotment letter.
Candidates have to submit the demand draft of Rs. 50,000 at the counselling venue itself. Thereafter, the balance payment of admission fee can be done within a stipulated deadline for NLU Delhi admissions. Candidates paying the admission fee before the last date will secure their admission in the respective course.
