NEET Cutoff for Karnataka MBBS – Counselling, Previous Years’ Cutoffs

NEET Cutoff for Karnataka MBBS 2020 is the minimum NEET rank or score which candidates must secure in NEET 2020 to stay eligible for admission in the medical colleges of Karnataka. There are as many as 9095 MBBS and 2674 BDS seats available in the medical and dental colleges of Karnataka through NEET 2020. NEET Cutoffs for Karnataka MBBS are expected to be released in the 3rd week of October 2020. Recently, National Testing Agency conducted the NEET 2020 on 13th September 2020. As many as 15.97 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. The crucial thing is that the exam analysts have termed the level of the exam as “easier” compared to the previous years. Thus, Candidates may expect the cutoffs to rise proportionally for the year 2020.

Candidates will be granted admission in the medical and dental colleges of Karnataka through 2 types of quotas-

  1. State Quota
  2. All India Quota

85% of the seats in all the medical and dental colleges of Karnataka will be allotted to the domiciles of the state, who secure an eligible state rank and corresponding score in NEET 2020. The remaining 15% seats will be reserved under the All India Quota (AIQ), as per which,  candidates from all over the country securing an eligible NEET AIR (All India Rank) and score will be granted admissions.

NEET Cutoff for Karnataka MBBS – State Quota (85%)

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will be responsible for the release of NEET Cutoff for Karnataka MBBS/BDS State Quota seats for the year 2020. Let’s look into a few important facts related to NEET 2020 cutoff Karnataka under the State Quota:

  • It is crucial to know that only those eligible candidates who hold the possession of a domicile certificate of Karnataka will be considered for admission under this quota. 
  • The State Quota cut offs will be released separately for various categories such as General, OBC, SC, ST and EWS. 
  • Admissions will be granted solely on the basis of merit (State Rank and NEET 2020 score). 
  • Candidates must know that they can only apply for admission in colleges which they have selected during the counselling process. 
  • Candidates must choose and lock their preferred choice of college/s before the deadline to be considered eligible for the concerned college/s

NEET Cutoff for Karnataka MBBS – All India Quota (15%)

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is the official governing body which will be responsible for carrying out the process of counselling as well as for the release of NEET Cutoff for Karnataka MBBS for All India Quota seats. 15% of the seats in all the medical and dental colleges of Karnataka will be granted under this quota. Candidates must secure eligible NEET AIR and score to stay eligible for admission under the All India Quota. The cutoffs will be released separately for various categories such as General, OBC, SC, ST and EWS.

NEET Cut Off for Karnataka MBBS – Counselling Process (State Quota)

Candidates must go through the following process to complete the NEET counselling for Karnataka MBBS under the State quota. It is important to note, however, that the foremost eligibility for the candidates to apply under the ‘State Quota’ is having a domicile of Karnataka.

  • Registration – Visit the official website of Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) and click on the link mentioning “Counselling 2020”. Candidates will be required to fill in credentials like Login ID and Password. Fill in the accurate details in the registration form and proceed to the next step.
  • Choosing and Locking the Choices – You can fill your preferred choices of colleges in the  “preference form”. Don’t forget to lock the choices of your preferred course and college respectively. 
  • Seat Allotment – Seats will be alloted to the eligible candidates according to their NEET Rank, preferred choice of college, and the availability of seats (under the State Quota) for various categories. Candidates can also opt to reject the accepted seat and then attend the second round of counselling. However, these candidates must register for counselling again and lock the preferred choices for the 2nd round.
  • Report at the Alloted College – Eligible candidates who are alloted a seat, must visit the reporting centre along with a demand draft of the specified fees and all the important academic and personal documents. It is also crucial for the candidates to carry two copies of the counselling registration form.
