The Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET – UG) 2026 is a national-level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate (UG) courses at participating universities and colleges across the country. While the application window for this examination closed on February 04, 2026, the CUET-UG is scheduled to be held in between May 11 – May 31, 2026 (Tentative).

CUET UG 2026 – Application Process
Step 1: Registration Form
- Candidates are required to register using the online application form and note down the system-generated application number.
- Candidates should provide all the required details while filling out the online application form and are also required to create a PASSWORD and choose a security question and enter his/her answer.
- After successful submission of personal details, an application number will be generated and will be used to complete the remaining steps of the application form. It will also be required for all future reference/correspondence.
- For subsequent logins, the candidates can log in directly with the respective system-generated application number and created password.
Step 2: Application Form
- The candidates will be required to log in with the system-generated application number and pre-created password for completing the application form including filling up personal details, providing the details of educational qualification, university/program selection, test paper details, choosing the examination, cities, and uploading the images and documents (if any).
- Then, they are required to upload scanned images of their photograph, signature, category certificate, and PwBD certificate (wherever applicable).
- The recent photograph should be either in color or black & white with 80% face (without mask) visible including ears against a white background.
- The scanned photograph and signature should be in JPG/JPEG format (clearly legible).
- The size of the scanned photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb (clearly legible).
- The size of the scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb (clearly legible).
- The size of the scanned copy of the category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS etc.) should be between 50 kb and 300 kb in PDF (clearly legible).
- The size of the scanned copy of the PwBD certificate should be between 50 kb to 300 kb in PDF (clearly legible)
Note:
- The candidate has to upload only his/her own photograph, signature, and certificate(s) as mentioned above (and not of anybody else) in a correct/proper manner.
- In case, it is found at any time in the future that the candidate has used/uploaded the photograph, signature, and certificate(s) of someone else in his/her application form or if the admit card has been damaged by the candidate, these acts shall be considered as unfair.
Step 3: Fee Payment
- After completing Step 1 and Step 2, the candidates have to pay the requisite examination fee. The fee can be submitted only online through net banking, credit card, debit card, UPI, or paytm services.
- Processing charges and GST as applicable are chargeable to the candidate (in addition to the examination fee) by the concerned bank/payment gateway integrator.
- The confirmation page of the online application form will be generated only after successful payment by the candidate.
- In case the confirmation page is not generated after payment of the fee, then the candidate may have to approach the concerned bank/payment gateway (in the helpline number and e-mail given in the Information Bulletin) for ensuring the successful payment or for obtaining the refund of duplicate/multiple payments.
- Lastly, the candidates will be required to download, save, and print a copy of the confirmation page of the application form for future reference.

CUET UG 2026 – Eligibility
For appearing in the CUET (UG) – 2026, there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class 12 /equivalent examination or are appearing in 2026 can appear in the CUET (UG) – 2026 examination. However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria (if any) of the University / Institution / Organization in which they are desirous of taking admission.
Note: Mere appearance in the entrance test or securing pass marks on the test does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission to the program unless he/she fulfils the program-wise eligibility conditions of the university of their choice.
CUET UG 2026 – Marking Scheme
For Multiple Choice Questions: To answer a question, the candidates need to choose one correct answer. However, if any anomaly or discrepancy is found after the process of challenges of the key verification, it shall be addressed in the following manner –
- Correct answer: Five marks (+5)
- Incorrect answer marked will be given Minus one mark (-1).
- Unanswered/un-attempted will be given no mark (0).
Every effort will be made to ensure that each question has one unique answer, in case, it is found that a question has more than one option, it will be dealt in following manner –
- If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
- If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or a Question is dropped then all candidates appeared will be given five marks (+5) irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted.

How can students apply for CUET (UG) 2026?
Students can submit their online application form for CUET UG 2026 at cuet.samarth.ac.in. Candidates who wish to appear for CUET are advised to go through the prospectus of the desired university/universities/participating institution.
What documents or certificates do students need to upload along with the application form?
Candidates need to upload the following with the application form: Scanned images of photograph and signature, certificates in respect of PwD/Category/BPL certificate as applicable. The documents/certificates shall be verified directly at the time of admission by the university.
