NEET Cutoff for Punjab MBBS – Cutoff Types, Previous Years’ Cutoffs 

NEET Cutoff for Punjab MBBS 2020 is expected to be released in the second half of October 2020. Candidates aspiring to study in the medical and dental colleges of Punjab must secure minimum ranks and corresponding scores (as mentioned in the cutoff) to be granted an admission. 

Important UpdateOn 3rd July 2020, MHRD Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal announced that the NEET 2020 will be conducted on 13th September 2020, the exam was previously scheduled to be held on 26th July 2020.

The medical and dental seats in the colleges of Punjab will be allotted through two types of quotas – 

1. State Quota

2. All India Quota (AIQ). 

85% of the total seats in medical and dental colleges will be reserved for NEET qualifying candidates who are domiciles of Punjab, provided they obtain eligible state ranks and scores in NEET 2020. The remaining 15% seats will be granted to the NEET qualifying candidates from other parts of the country on the basis of their All India Ranks (AIRs) and scores (as per their respective categories). 

There are as many as 975 MBBS and 1030 BDS seats available in the government and private medical colleges of Punjab through NEET 2020.

NEET Cutoff for Punjab MBBS – State Quota (85%)

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) is the competent body which will be responsible for the release of the NEET Cutoff for Punjab MBBS/BDS 2020 for State Quota seats. Domiciles of Punjab who will secure qualifying state rank and scores in NEET 2020 will be considered for admission under the State Quota. 

It is crucial to know that the cutoffs will be released in online mode for various categories such as Unreserved, SC, OBC, ST, EWS and others. You must choose and lock your choices of preferred colleges during the counselling process (in either 1st or 2nd round). There are as many as 829 MBBS seats available in medical colleges of Punjab under the State Quota.

NEET Cutoff for Punjab MBBS – All India Quota (15%)

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), on behalf of (Medical Counselling Committee), will be responsible for the release of NEET Cutoff for Punjab MBBS 2020 for the All India Quota seats. Qualifying NEET candidates from all around the country will be granted admission through this quota, provided they secure qualifying NEET AIR and corresponding score in NEET 2020. 

There are as many as 146 MBBS seats available in medical colleges of Punjab under the All India Quota. The cutoffs will be released separately for various categories such as Unreserved, SC, OBC, ST, EWS and others.
