New Delhi, 9 August 2022 – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the second phase of the UGC NET exam 2022. As per the latest updates, the exam will now be conducted between 20 September and 30 September. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be held from 12 August to 14 August, 2022.
UGC Chairman – M Jagadesh Kumar – noted on Monday that “The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the first phase of UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) examination on July 9, 11 and 12, 2022 for 33 subjects in 310 examination centres located in 225 cities across the country. [The] Second phase was earlier scheduled to be held on 12, 13 and 14 August 2022. However, now the final phase examination of UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) has been scheduled to be conducted between 20 and 30 September 2022, involving 64 subjects.”
Due to the postponement of the exam, the dates of release of the exam city intimation slip and the UGC NET admit card have also been postponed. The examination city intimation slip will now be released on 11 September, while the UGC NET admit card will be released on 16 September 2022, respectively.

UGC NET Exam 2022 – Details
- The UGC NET exam 2022 for Phase-I was conducted on July 9, 11 and 12.
- The Phase-I exam was held for a total of 33 subjects in 310 exam centres, across 225 cities in India.
- A few Phase-I exams in languages like Telugu and Marathi were also postponed to Phase II due to state departmental exams scheduled in these states as well as technical issues faced by students.
- These exams were first postponed to August, however, now these will also be conducted in September 2022.
- The UGC NET Phase-II exam will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode.
- The exam will be held in two shifts from September 20 to September 30, 2022.
- The first shift will begin at 9:00 AM and continue till 12:00 PM.
- The second shift for the UGC NET exam will begin at 3:00 PM and continue till 6:00 PM.

UGC NET Exam 2022 – UGC NET Admit Card
The UGC NET admit card will now be released on September 16 due to the postponement of the exam. Here’s how candidates can download the UGC NET 2022 admit card:
- First, visit the UGC NET official website – ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- There, kindly find the link that reads, “Download Phase 2 Admit Card for UGC-NET Dec. 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles)”. This will be available near the bottom of the homepage.
- Click on the link and a new window will appear.
- On the new window, please provide login credentials like UGC NET application number, date of birth, and security pin.
- Click on the submit option to finalise the process.
- The UGC NET Admit Card for Phase 2 will then be displayed on the screen.
- Download the UGC NET 2022 hall ticket and take a printout for future reference.
