Why was the NEET PG Counselling 2021 Postponed?
The counselling was delayed due to a petition in the Supreme Court that challenged the new OBC (other backward classes) and EWS (economically weaker section) reservation scheme announced by the government. The next hearing for the matter is scheduled for December 6, 2022.
When will the NEET PG Counselling 2021 be Started?
The Centre has told the Supreme Court that NEET PG counselling 2021 will not begin before the reservation issue is resolved. However, a delegation from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) met the Union Health Minister – Mansukh Mandaviya – on December 30, who assured IMA that the counselling process will begin before January 6.
After the meeting, the IMA stated that “We are hopeful that with the assurance given by the health minister, the above issue will be resolved soon.”
