XAT Registration – Xavier Aptitude Test or XAT is a national level management entrance exam conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur for admission in MBA/PGDM programs. It is conducted annually by XLRI on the behalf of XAMI (Xavier Association of Management Institute). The test has been conducted for more than 60 years and is accepted by more than 150 institutions across the country. Graduates who wish to pursue MBA/PGDM courses at XLRI-Jamshedpur, XAMI institutes or the B-schools accepting XAT score can fill the registration form on the official website.

The XAT application process starts in the last week of August and it takes about four months for XLRI to declare the cut offs. XAT Registration – 2023 XAT Exam timeline

XAT happens once a year and it’s score is used for admission in more that 150 colleges offering PGDM and MBA courses across India. Hence, its registration process, exam and result declaration is aligned with the admission process of the individual colleges. 

XLRI follows a similar timeline every year for conducting XAT. The registration begins in August which ends in the last week of November. A few days of extension is provided for those who failed to register in the provided time. Here is a table showing tentative dates for the major registration-related XAT 2023 events. 

XAT Registration – What is the cost of XAT 2023 Registration?

The cost of registration is INR 1,700 per application (without late fee). Candidates interested in XLRI programmes need to pay an additional fee of Rs. 300/- each. The form will be available on the official XAT website and the last date of submitting the complete form will be in the last week of November. Those who will fail to submit the form within this duration will get an extension till the second week of December for late fee submission and will have to pay INR 2,000 for registration and Rs 500 per XLRI course.

XAT Registration – How to apply for XAT 2023?

The registration process for XAT 2023 is online and can be done through the XAT’s official website http://www.xatonline.in. The registration process can be explained in the following steps:

XAT 2023 Registration: 

Step 1: Visit the XAT official website http://www.xatonline.in.

Step 2: Click on new registration

Step 3: Fill in the details like name, date of birth, city, country, phone number and email ID

Step 4: Candidates will get their unique XAT ID and registration link 

NOTE: In case the applicant does not receive the confirmation mail with XAT ID and registration link within 24 hours of signing up, he/she can write to admis@xlri.ac.in or call up on 1800 209 0835 between 08.00 am and 08.00 pm (IST) or write to admissions@xatonline.in.

XAT 2023 Form Submission: After the XAT ID and password is received, applicants must follow the following steps:

Step 1: Visit the XAT official website http://www.xatonline.in.

Step 2: Click on “login”

Step 3: Enter XAT ID and Password

Step 4: Application form will be displayed, fill in the details and upload necessary documents.

Step 5: Pay the application fee through credit/debit card or net banking

XAT 2023 Fee Payment: 

  1. The application fee for the XAT 2023 is INR 1,700 and INR 300 per XLRI course. 
  2. The fee is to be paid online and through the online mediums provided in the website only. 
  3. There is no relaxation of fee for any student’s category. 
  4. Late application fee is INR 2,000 and INR 500 per XLRI course. 
  5. Payment can be made through debit cards (RuPay, Visa, Mastercard or Maestro), credit cards and net banking.

XAT 2023 Application Form – Points to Remember:

  1. If the candidate is unable to complete the form in one go, he/she can save the form by clicking on “SAVE and NEXT”. It is advised to the students to save the form and check if the updates are saved as per the requirement before final submission. 
  2. It is advised to verify all the information posted in the form as it will not be possible to make any changes after the final submission.
  3. Candidates must follow the specifications given in the guidelines to upload the signature and photograph.
  4. Candidates must enter their complete work experience in the form at the time of submission.
  5. Click on the review tab to verify the entire application before the final submission.
  6. Interested candidates can select the XLRI courses while filling the form with an additional fee of INR 300. 
  7. Select the city preference where you want to appear for the test. Candidates can select up to two cities at the time of application. However, the final allotment of the city depends on the authority.
  8. Click on the payment tab and make the payment. 
  9. On successful completion of the payment, an e-receipt will be generated. In case of no receipt, the transaction will be considered null.
  10. It is advised to take the print out of the e-receipt.
  11. Applicants can also download the application form containing all the details.
  12. Prefer using Internet Explorer (version 11 and above), Mozilla Firefox (version 50 to 61) and Google Chrome (version 50 to 69) for the XAT 2023 registration.

XAT Registration – Required documents

Following documents are required at the time of registration.

  1. Class 10 and 12 marksheets
  2. Graduation marksheet
  3. Phone number
  4. Email address
  5. Date of birth certificate
  6. Address proof
  7. Category certificate (if any)
  8. Photograph (scanned, less than 1mb, 140*60 pixels)
  9. Signature (scanned, less than 1 mb)

Photograph and signature scan upload

Candidates must have scanned (digital) copies of their recent photographs and signature for the purpose of filling the application form. Make sure to follow the given instructions while filling the form:

  1. Must be a recent passport size colour picture.
  2. The picture should be against a light color/white background.
  3. Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face.
  4. Ensure there’s no “red-eye” if you use a flash.
  5. If you wear glasses, make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly seen.
  6. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear is allowed but it must not cover your face.
  7. Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred).
  8. Size of file should be between 20KB-50KB.
  9. Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50KB. 

NOTE: If the photograph is unclear or blurred, it will be considered invalid. In such a case, students can edit the application and change the photograph.

Uploading the signature image

  1. Signature must be on white paper with black ink pen.
  2. Only the signatures done by the applicant will be allowed. No other person should copy the signature.
  3. The signature will be used on the admit card and other places necessary.
  4. Signature uploaded at the time of application and done during exam attendance should match. In case of a mismatch, the candidate may be disqualified.
  5. Dimensions 140 x 60 pixels (preferred).
  6. Size of file should be between 10KB —20KB.

Tips for scanning

  1. Scanner resolution should be at a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch).
  2. Images should be in True Color
  3. Crop the images to get the final size (as specified above).
  4. The image file should be in JPG or JPEG format. 

XAT Registration – FAQs

Q. How do I know that I have successfully registered for XAT 2023?

When you successfully register, you are taken to an acknowledgement page with the XAT ID. You can use this ID to reprint the application form. Once the  payment is made by the candidate, an e-receipt will be generated which will have all the payment details and will be considered as confirmation of the payment.

Q. Is XAT 2023 application form available offline?

No, XAT 2023 application forms are not available offline. The official website of XAT is the only medium of application. Students can apply only on the official website.

Q. Do I need to fill XLRI form separately?

Candidates who wish to apply at XLRI need not to fill a separate form.  The XAT application form includes a section where applicants can choose which XLRI courses they want to apply for. 

Q. How many participating colleges can an applicant apply for through the XAT application form?

The candidates can select as many colleges as they want in the XAT application form.
