The West Bengal board has two conducting bodies to regulate the tasks in the education system of the state, i.e. WBBSE and WBCHSE. The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) was established under the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, Act 1975. Whereas, on the other hand, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) was established under the West Bengal Secondary Education Act, 1950, and started functioning around 1951. WBBSE looks after the secondary education system and WBCHSE works for the higher secondary system. 

WB Board 10th Class Result 2020 – Date of declaration

The result for WB board madhyamik 2020 exams is expected to be announced in the month of May, 2020. WB Board 10th Class Result – WBBSE, Class Division Criteria

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) will announce the result on the official website (wbresults.nic.in). Students can also use the SMS facility to check their results facilitated by the board. While using the online portal to check their WB board 10th class result, the students will require their board roll numbers. If in any case, the students are unable to access the official website on the day of announcement of result, they can facilitate the SMS facility to check their WB board 10th class 2020 result. 

In order to qualify the class 10th board exams, the students will be required to secure minimum 34% marks in theory and 20% marks in their practical exams. Minimum 272 marks out of 500 marks will be required by the students to qualify under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.   • First division on scoring 480 or above marks
  • Second division on scoring 360 or above marks
  • Third division on scoring 272 or above marks

  2. The students will be required to login the online result portal using their class 10th board exam roll numbers and date of birth.
  3. After successful log in, the students will be redirected to a new window with their results on the screen.

Every year, when the result is around the corner, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education facilitates the SMS facility for the convenience of the students. Large number of students tries to access the official website on the day of result declaration, which eventually leads to slow access and delay. To avoid this inconvenience, the students can avail the SMS facility and get their results in their hands with just one SMS. To use the SMS facility, the students will be required to follow the steps given below-

  1. Go to the SMS facility in the mobile phone and create a new message.
  2. Type WB12<space>roll number and send it to 5676750 or 58888
  3. The result for WB board 10th class 2020 exams will be sent to the mobile phone stating the marks in each subject along with the qualifying status.

The forms will be available at the respective schools. Students unsatisfied with their marks can either go for rechecking of their answer sheets or revaluation of their marks. How to apply for Compartment Exam after the declaration of WB Board 10th Class Result 2020?

Students failing in one or more than one subjects will be given a second chance by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. Such students can apply for the compartment exams, the result for which will be released in the month of August 2020, tentatively. The forms can be availed from the respective schools, and are to be submitted back to school after filling along with the pre-requisite fees for the compartment exams.
