October 27, 2022, New Delhi – UPSSSC 2022 exam – On October 23, 2022, almost 33% of the candidates missed appearing in the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) 2022, Preliminary Entrance Test (PET), due to the terrible rush and mismanagement.
A large number of candidates were not let into the exam centre, as they claimed that the main gates were shut half an hour before the start of the examination. They claimed that this happened during both shifts of the examination.
A candidate, who had come from Balrampur to appear in the UPSSSC exam, told the media present there that the gate was almost closing and they somehow managed to reach the exam centre at the last minute. The student further said that few of his friends were not that lucky and they could not reach on time, thus missing the exam.
Some of them also claimed that they were delayed, as there were not enough vehicles to take them to the exam centres.
When asked, the authorities stated that they could not accommodate those candidates who came late for the exam. The Chairman of UPSSSC, Pravir Kumar, told the media that: “We cannot help if candidates failed to reach the exam centre on time. We do not want to indulge in guess-work on the huge number of absentees. Nothing could be done because the candidates were not punctual. The UPSSSC exam was the biggest ever competitive examination held in Uttar Pradesh and it was carried out successfully.”

- According to estimates, 35 lakh candidates were eligible to appear for the examination, but only 25 lakh students appeared for it.
