New Delhi, 13, December, 2021: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has warned students against a fake news article, which got circulated stating that there would be offline exams in all universities for semester courses. The fake notice was released by a twitter account named “@ugc_india” and created a stir among the students.
PIB took notice of the fact and has warned students that the University Grants Commission (UGC) has not issued any such notice. It has advised all students to beware of such fake notices and to believe only the official website of the UGC for all latest updates regarding examinations.

Fake Exam News 2021 – Other Instances
1. In October 2021, a notice went viral claiming to be the date sheet of CBSE first term examinations. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) highlighted that date sheet as fake and notified all students that it got circulated on social media to confuse students of Class 10 and Class 12. Further, CBSE tweeted that the board had not released any official notification in this regard.

2. On 7 July 2021, a fake notice about the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2021) exam also went viral. However, the National Testing Agency (NT) denied that no such notice was issued by the agency.
UGC Exam Dates For July 2021 – IGNOU and Others
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued an important notice regarding the exam dates for the July 2021 semester courses that are offered by several national coordinators like Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B), National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), and Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC).
As per the notice, the Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) examination has been scheduled for February 4 and 5, 2022 for students, working professionals, and lifelong learners who have enrolled for the July 2021 semesters offered by these educational institutions.
