UGC NET Exam Dates -The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the UGC NET 2021 exam dates (December 2020 Cycle – May 2021 Session). The exam will commence from 02nd May 2021

UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test ) is a national-level exam, which is conducted twice every year to recruit candidates for the positions of:

  • Only Assistant Professor, OR
  • Both Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges

Until June 2018, the UGC NET exams were conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). However, as per the announcement made by the HRD Ministry, NTA has taken up the responsibility to conduct the UGC NET exam from December 2018.

UGC NET Exam Dates – Important Highlights

  1. UGC NET exam 2021 (May Session) will commence from 2nd May 2021.
  2. UGC NET 2021 exam will be conducted in 225 selected cities across the country
  3. UGC NET exams dates 2021 for May Session are 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th & 17th of May 2021.
  4. UGC NET exam will be conducted in English and Hindi

UGC NET Exam Dates 2021 – Schedule

The new UGC NET exam dates (December 2020 Cycle – May 2021 Session) was released by NTA on 02nd February 2021. As per the latest notification, NTA UGC NET exam will be conducted from 2nd May 2021. NTA has also informed that the UGC NET exam 2021 will be conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode (online).

UGC NET Eligibility Criteria

UGC NET Exam Dates – Submission of Application Form

The online application form submission process for UGC NET 2021 started on 02nd February 2021. Candidates can apply for the UGC NET application forms till 02nd March 2021. The final submission of their application form and the application fee payment slot will be open until 10th March 2021 (11.50 PM – fee payment). 

Candidates can submit their application forms via online mode by accessing the official UGC NET website (https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/). Candidates have to follow four simple steps to complete the application form submission process.

UGC NET Application Fee

Candidates need to pay the registration/application fee for UGC NET to apply for the examination. Before making a payment, the candidates should carefully read the eligibility criteria. Candidates must note that the application fee amount is non-refundable.

Before filling up the form, the candidate is advised to make a duplicate copy and fill it up first. Any mistakes or fields left out accidentally may lead to the rejection of the application form.

When will the UGC NET 2021 exam be conducted?

For how many subjects is the UGC NET Paper 2 exam conducted?

The UGC NET Paper 2 exam is conducted for a total of 81 subjects. Candidates can select their preferred subject from these 81 subject options.

What is the age limit to apply for the UGC NET exam?

Candidates applying for the post of JRF should not be more than 30 years. There is no age limit to apply for the post of Assistant Professor.

What is the minimum educational eligibility criteria to apply for the UGC NET exam?

Candidates must have passed their master’s with an aggregate score of at least 55%.

When will I get my NTA UGC NET admit card?

For now, the UGC NET admit cards have not yet been announced. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website of the NTA UGC NET.
