New Delhi, 1 June 2021 – State Bank of India (SBI) has officially announced the postponement of its SBI Clerk preliminary exam. The exam for the recruitment of the Junior Associate (JA) has been deferred because of the second wave of COVID and the lockdown imposed in various states of the country.
An official notice regarding the same was issued on Monday i.e. 31 May 2021 on the official SBI website.
The SBI Clerk exam 2021 was initially scheduled to be conducted in June 2021. Now, SBI has announced that they would conduct the examination only after the pandemic situation comes under control. The new examination date will be announced by the exam conducting authority (SBI) in due course. However, it is expected that the SBI Clerk exam 2021 may take place around July or August if the COVID-19 situation gets better.
On the postponement notification of the SBI clerk examination, one of the officials stated, “With reference to advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2021-22/09 dated 27 April 2021, for the post of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales), the exam authority has decided to postpone the exam till further notice. We care about the safety of students and conducting the examination amid the ongoing pandemic is bound to adversely affect the candidates.”
The notice further reads, “Please visit our website at www.sbi.co.in/web/careers/ or www.bank.sbi/web/careers regularly for further updates.”
SBI Clerk Exam 2021 – Pre-Exam Training Admit Card
Earlier last week (28th May 2021), SBI had issued the pre-training admit card for candidates. It belonged to specific aspirant categories for Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) in clerical cadre except for the candidates of “Ladakh” and “Leh and Kargil Valley under special drive”.
The application criteria highlighted the vacancies and also stated that the applicants must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in the specified opted local language of the state/UT/Special area. The recruitment for these two areas has been kept in abeyance till further notice.
After SBI releases the new date for the Clerk/ Junior Associate exam, candidates can download the SBI Clerk admit card using their registration id and password.
About SBI Clerk 2021
SBI organizes the SBI Clerk exam every year to recruit eligible applicants for the post of Junior Associate. This year, SBI has announced 5237 open vacancies for clerical posts. The SBI Clerk application process commenced on 27th April 2021 and concluded on 27th May 2021.
The selection for the Junior Associate posts is based on the candidates’ performance in preliminary, main, and opted local language examinations. The candidates who will be selected and recruited by SBI will receive up to Rs. 47,920 as a monthly salary with a starting basic pay of Rs. 19,900.
