RRB NTPC Syllabus – Topics, Books, Sample Papers, Exam Pattern

The Railway Recruitment Board started the RRB NTPC exam on 28th December 2020 (1st phase) and concluded on 31st July 2021 (7th phase). For the upcoming exam, candidates who have applied for the exam must keep themselves armed with the complete details related to the RRB NTPC syllabus and RRB NTPC exam pattern. 

Every year, the Railway Recruitment Board decides the RRB NTPC syllabus. The Indian Railway Board will conduct the RRB NTPC exam in 2 stages – 1st stage (Prelims) and 2nd stage (Mains). Both the tests will be conducted in CBT mode (computer-based test/online). The RRB NTPC syllabus 2022 for both 1st Stage and 2nd Stage is the same. 

RRB NTPC syllabus 2021 comprises 3 sections/subjects and multiple topics under each one of them. The  3 sections are –

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • Mathematics
  • General Awareness

RRB NTPC syllabus consists of topics from Class 10, 12 and graduation. The question paper includes a total of 100 questions and candidates are required to answer all of them within 90 minutes. Time relaxation is given to PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disability) candidates wherein they are allowed to complete their tests within 120 minutes

  • Railway suspends RRB NTPC Level 1 exams for the time being after protests by aspirants
  • RRB NTPC exam 2019-20 started from 28th December 2020
  • RRB NTPC admit card 2019-20 for CBT 1st Stage was released on its official website 7 times for each phase of the examination
  • RRB NTPC exam was conducted in 15 languages
  • Approximately 35,281 vacancies will be filled through RRB NTPC 2022 (1st stage CBT for CEN-01/2019)
  • RRB will not send postal admit cards/call letters to candidates
  • RRB NTPC notification 2021 will be sent to candidates’ registered contact number and email address

RRB has not set any specific syllabus for the NTPC examination (both 1st and 2nd stage CBT for CEN-01/2019). However, based on previous years’ question papers, it can be ascertained that the RRB NTPC question paper consists of 3 major sections.

RRB NTPC syllabus is divided into 3 segments or subjects. It comprises 100 national-level questions on General Awareness (40 marks), General Intelligence and Reasoning (30 marks) and Mathematics (30 marks) for CBT Stage 1. The sections in the RRB NTPC syllabus remain the same for the Stage 2 exam. However, the marks allocated to each section will change.
