NEET UG 2021 To Be Held On 12 Sept, Applications To Start Tomorrow

New Delhi, 12 September 2021 – Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced that National Eligibility cum Entrance Test โ€“ NEET (UG) 2021 will be conducted on 12 September 2021 across the country following COVID-19 protocols. The application process will start tomorrow (13 July 2021) at 5 pm. Candidates preparing to appear for NEET 2021 must visit the official websites of National Testing Agency or NTA to fill and submit their respective application forms. 

Pradhan, in his tweet, placed a special emphasis on following social distancing norms amid COVID-19 โ€“ โ€œIn order to ensure social distancing norms, number of cities where examination will be conducted has been increased from 155 to 198. The number of examination centres will also be increased from the 3862 centres used in 2020.โ€

โ€œTo ensure adherence to COVID-19 protocols, face mask will be provided to all candidates at the centre. Staggered time slots during entry and exit, contactless registration, proper sanitisation, seating with social distancing etc. will also be ensured,โ€ the tweet read further. 

NEET 2021 has been announced

NEET Notification 2021

Now that the new date for NEET 2021 has been announced, the NEET notification 2021 is expected to be released anytime soon on nta.ac.in or neet.nta.nic.

The Education Ministry had previously declared that the syllabus of NEET 2021 shall remain unchanged, but there would be some significant changes in the NEET exam pattern. The NEET exam pattern includes details like duration and mode of paper, language, question type, marking scheme, and more. As per the recent NEET exam pattern โ€“ 

  • The paper will be conducted in pen and paper mode
  • There will be 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQโ€™s) – 45 questions from Physics, 45 questions from Chemistry, and 90 questions from Biology subject
  • 4 marks shall be awarded for every correct answer while one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer
  • The NEET paper will be of a total of 720 marks

Since the NTA is still to release an official update on such details, candidates are advised to await till the final NEET 2021 notification comes out.
