NEET Results 2021 Expected to be Released Before Diwali

New Delhi, 25 October 2021 – As per the latest updates, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is most likely to declare the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) results for the year 2021 before Diwali. Where some media reports claim that NEET Results 2021 will be declared in October end, others predict that the results will be out in the starting days of November 2021.ย

Since no official statement or announcement is made in this regard, speculations are still rife. However, whatโ€™s certain is that NEET Results 2021 will be out soon and students must keep a vigilant eye on NEETโ€™s official website for the latest updates.ย

The registration for NEET Phase 2 will continue till October 26. Students who have not yet registered must do so as soon as possible. Once registrations are complete, NTA will be focusing on releasing the results along with the final answer key.

NEET 2021 Passing Criteria

The minimum marks required to qualify NEET 2021 remain at 50 percentile. These are not the exact percentage obtained by students but are instead relative marks. The percentile depends on different factors like the number of students taking the exam, total seats available, and the difficulty level of the paper. Students must also remember that this is the minimum percentile required to pass the exam. However, to get admission into top colleges, they might need to score higher than the minimum qualifying marks.ย

Lower Cutoff Expected this Year

The number of students who applied for the exam this year was higher than normal (over 16 lakhs). The number of seats, as well as the difficulty level of the paper, also went up. This is why experts have predicted that the cutoff for this year will be lower than usual.

In 2020, the cut-off for top medical colleges was 720-147. In 2019, it was 701-134. This year, experts expect the score to range from 715 to 130 for the General category. For students belonging to the SC/ST category, the cutoff is predicted to be 129-100. For OBC, the cutoff could be 129-107. For Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, it could be 104-98.ย ย

This is a sigh of relief for many students. However, until the final results are out, nothing concrete can be stated in this regard and students must keep an eye on NEETโ€™s official website for actual results.ย ย
