Kolkata Metro Recruitment 2023 – Apprentice Posts – Eligibility and Selection Process
- Candidates must have completed Class 10 with a minimum average score of 50%, excluding optional or additional subjects, and hold an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate in the relevant trade that is affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
- A final merit list will be created based on the marks obtained by candidates in the Class 10 exam.
- Candidates who are finally enlisted should be employed after receiving a positive medical examination report from the Railways.
- Candidates must submit copies of all certificates, including ones that attest to their date of birth, educational and technical qualifications, caste, Physically Handicapped (PH), ex-serviceman, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and creamy layer status.
- These documents must be duly attested by a gazetted official of the central or state governments.
- Candidates with higher educational qualifications will not be given any additional consideration. Candidates without ITI or NCVT are not required to apply.
Kolkata Metro Recruitment 2023 – Apprentice Posts – Age Limit
- Candidates must be at least 15 years old and no older than 24 years old as of January 1, 2023.
The age restriction will be relaxed by:
- Five years for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates
- Three years for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates
For Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, the upper age limit will be relaxed by:
- Ten years for unreserved candidates
- Fifteen years for SC and ST applicants
- Thirteen years for OBC candidates
- For ex-servicemen candidates, the upper age limit may be relaxed up to the time they have spent serving in the armed forces plus three more years, up to a maximum of 40 years, provided they have served for a minimum of six months at a stretch.

Step 1) Candidates must visit Apprenticeship India’s official website at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
Step 2) Candidates are now required to click on the link that reads “Candidate Login/Register” located at the top of the page.
Step 3) Candidates then need to enter their mobile number and email ID to start the registration process.
Step 4) Candidates must update their eKYC and provide bank and other details to register themselves.
Step 5) Candidates then must fill out the application form, which is attached to Kolkata Metro’s recruitment notification here.
Step 6) Candidates must drop off their application at the PRO Office, Metro Rail Bhavan, Ground Floor, 33/1, J.L. Nehru Road, Kolkata-700071, or mail it to the Dy.
