New Delhi, 16 June 2021 – Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced the revised exam dates of JEE Main 2021 May session/session 4. Announcing the same via his official Twitter handle on Thursday evening, Pradhan stated that the JEE Main Session 4 will now be held on 26th, 27th, 31st August and continue till 1st and 2nd September 2021.
Apart from the latest development shared via Twitter, National Testing Agency (NTA) has also released a notification on its official JEE Main 2021 website.

JEE Main 2021 – Reasons for Revised Dates
Previously, the JEE Main 2021 session 4 exams were supposed to be held between 27th July and 2nd August 2021. With the release of the newly revised examination schedule, the National Testing Agency has highlighted the reasons behind postponing the JEE Main exams.
- The decision of scheduling new dates was made to give students a gap of four weeks between session 3 and session 4.
- The official notification stated that the change has been introduced as the student community was persistent with their demands regarding the postponement of dates of the JEE Main May session.
JEE Main 2021 – Re-extension of Application Deadline
Currently, the JEE Main session 4 registration process is ongoing.
- NTA has now extended the JEE Main session 4 application deadline to 20th July 2021 till 9 PM.
- JEE Main aspirants can pay the examination fee till 11:50 PM on the same day.
In a statement, NTA informed, “Representations are being received from candidates seeking extension of the last date for submission of online application forms for the exam on account of difficulties being experienced by them due to COVID-19 and the disruptions caused by it. To remove hardships caused to candidates and to ensure larger participation, it has been decided to extend the last date further for submission of Online Application Form by new candidates and withdrawal/ correction by the existing/ interested candidates for the exam.”
Meanwhile, NTA will conduct JEE Main 2021 April Session on the 20th, 22th, 25th, and 27th July 2021. As many as 7.09 lakh candidates have registered for the April session exam.

- Around 7.32 lakh students have already registered for session 4 of JEE Main 2021.
- The NTA will soon release the JEE Main admit card 2021 for session 4 on the official website. As per the previous trends, the admit card is expected to be out around 17th August 2021.
- NTA has increased the number of test centres from 232 to 334.
- Session-4 (postponed May 2021 session) of JEE Main 2021 will be held for B.E./B.Tech. (Paper-1) & B.Arch. (Paper-2A)/B. Planning (Paper-2B).
