IISER Application Form – Dates, How to Apply through KVPY, SCB & JEE-A

According to the official notification, IISER application form for admission through KVPY channel and the SCB channel is available until July 8, 2021. Moreover, IISER application form date for admission through JEE Advanced channel solely depends on the schedule, which is still to be shared by IIT. The application fee for IISER admission is Rs. 2000, Rs. 1000, and USD 100 for candidates belonging to unreserved, reserved and foreign national categories, respectively.  

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research releases the IISER application form for admission into BS-MS (Bachelor of Science-Master of Science) dual-degree programme separately through three different channels – 

  1. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna (KVPY)
  2. State & Central Boards (SCB)
  3. JEE Advanced

Those aspirants who submit the IISER application form successfully before the last date will be eligible to  participate in the admission process. Candidates must also satisfy the IISER eligibility criteria (of the particular channel through which they choose to get admission) to submit the application form.

IISER Application Form – Channels of Admission

Candidates will have three options through which they can participate in the IISER admission process. IISER offers BS-MS degree at its seven campuses via one of the following channels:

  1. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) 
  2. Indian Institute of Technology – Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) 
  3. State and Central Boards (SCB)

Important Note: Candidates can apply for IISER admission through more than one channel or all the channels.

IISER Application Form – Eligibility for IISER Registration

The eligibility criteria for filling the IISER application form varies from all the three channels. Channel- wise eligibility criteria for IISER admission is as follows.

Eligibility Criteria to apply for admission through KVPY Channel

  • Candidates having a KVPY Scholarship commencing from the academic year 2021-22 are eligible to apply through this channel
  • Candidates must also qualify a board cutoff defined by IISER. The marks scored by the candidates in 10+2 board examination should be equal to or more than the IISER board cutoff (set for different boards of school education).

Eligibility Criteria to apply for admission through JEE Advanced Channel

  • Candidates obtaining a rank/category within 10000 in the Common Rank List of JEE Advanced are eligible to apply through this channel
  • Also, candidates have to meet the additional cutoff marks (defined by IISER) for their respective board in 10+2 level examination 

Eligibility Criteria to apply for admission through SCB Channel

  • Candidates must have completed their 10+2 level education in 2019 or 2021 to apply for IISER admission through SCB channel in the year 2021
  • Candidates must qualify as per the cutoff marks (defined by IISER) for their respective boards
  • Moreover, aspirants applying through SCB channel have to qualify the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) to secure their final admission

IISER Application Form – Who all are ineligible to apply?

Candidates who are not eligible to apply through any channel for IISER admission are as follows:

  1. A candidate who has already taken admission in any of the IISERs
  2. A candidate who accepted the seat in any of the academic years but did not join
  3. A candidate whose admission at IISER was cancelled after joining, irrespective of the reason for cancellation

Candidates must use any of the following browsers with the latest versions to avoid any kind of hassles while filling the IISER application form online.

  • Mozilla Firefox (Version 50 and above) OR

IISER Application Form – Prerequisites

Candidates need to keep the following details and documents handy to fill the IISER application form seamlessly.  

  1. Soft copy of the class 12th mark sheet*
  2. Soft copy of the recent passport size colour photograph and signature as per the specifications
  3. A valid email ID and mobile number for registration
  4. Bank details for payment of application fee
  5. A valid government-approved photo ID

IISER Application Form – Registration Process

The application form for IISER 2021 has been released for a specified time period only.  Hence, candidates must know the stepwise procedure to apply online before the deadline.

Candidates have to complete the IISER application form submission process in two parts, which are as follows:

  1. Part I – Common application form for all channels
    1. One time registration
    2. Entering personal details
    3. Entering qualification details
    4. Uploading documents
  2. Part II – Channel-wise application form

IISER Application Form – Common Application Form for all Channels

The first part of the IISER application form remains the same irrespective of the admission channel chosen by the candidate. The stepwise procedure to complete the common application form is as follows. 

ONE TIME REGISTRATION

Step 1 – Visit the official website for IISER admission, i.e. iiseradmission.in

Step 2 – Click on the hyperlink ‘live now (click here)’ on the homepage 

Step 3 – Click on the link reading ‘Apply Online (Click Here)’

Step 4 – Enter your basic details in the boxes with an asterisk symbol (*)

Step 5 – Click on the ‘Generate OTP’ button.

Step 6 – Enter the OTP and click the ‘Validate OTP’ button to proceed to enter the case sensitive captcha code

Step 7 – Click on the ‘Submit’ button to complete the registration

What after the completion of one-time registration?

  1. You will be able to view an application sequence number/user ID. The same credentials must be retained to perform future login attempts 
  2. You will receive an email consisting of your user ID and password
  3. In order to proceed further and fill the application form, use the login credentials which the IISER has sent via an email 

FILLING DETAILS IN IISER APPLICATION FORM

Step 1 – Login using your user ID and password

Step 2 – Click on the button reading ‘Go to Personal Details Form’ in the login dashboard

Step 3 – Enter all your details including personal details and qualification details

Step 4 – Upload photograph and signature by clicking ‘Click here to upload’

Step 5 – Browse the file from the system and upload the same

Once you see the text stating “File Uploaded Successfully” in green colour, you may proceed further with the completion of the application process

Step 6 – Click on the ‘I Agree’ checkbox to accept all the terms and conditions

Step 7 – Enter the case sensitive captcha code to get the following options: 

  1. Preview – Click the button with the ‘Preview’ option to check all the details in the application form
  2. Submit – Click the button with the ‘Submit’ option to proceed further with the application process

After clicking the ‘Submit’ option, you complete the common application form. Candidates may now proceed to fill the channel-specific IISER application form.

IISER Application Form  – Channel-Wise IISER Application Form

After the completion of the common application form, candidates have to provide channel-specific details. The stepwise procedure for all the three channels is as follows.

FILLING IISER APPLICATION FORM FOR ADMISSION THROUGH SCB CHANNEL

Step 1 – After submitting the common application form, candidates will be able to view different tabs of all the three channels as per the schedule

Step 2 – Click on the tab for SCB channel, and further, click on the button reading ‘Click here to fill application form’

Step 3 – You will be redirected to a new window wherein you have to choose five test centres in order of preference to appear for IISER Aptitude Test

Step 4 – Enter your desired courses and IISER campuses in order of preference

Step 5 – Choose the payment Gateway i.e. ICICI and click the checkbox against ‘I Agree’ to accept the declaration

Step 6 – Choose the mode of payment and click on ‘Proceed Now’ button to pay the application fee

FILLING IISER APPLICATION FORM FOR ADMISSION THROUGH KVPY CHANNEL

Step 1 – After submitting the common application form, candidates will be able to view two different tabs of SCB and KVPY

Step 2 – Click on the tab for KVPY channel, and further click on the button reading ‘Click here to fill application form’

Step 3 – Enter your KVPY scholarship details including the stream, seat number and application number

Step 4 – Choose the campus and course in order of preference

Step 5 – Choose the payment Gateway i.e. ICICI and click the checkbox against ‘I Agree’ to accept the declaration

Step 6 – Choose the mode of payment and click on ‘Proceed Now’ button to pay the application fee

FILLING IISER APPLICATION FORM FOR ADMISSION THROUGH IIT-JEE CHANNEL*

Step 1 – After filling the common application form, candidates will have to click on the JEE Advanced tab

Step 2 – Click on the button reading ‘Click here to fill application form’

Step 3 – Enter your details of the JEE Advanced 2021 including roll number, AIR, etc.

Step 4 – Choose the IISER campus and course in order of preference

Step 5 – Click on the ‘I Agree’ checkbox to accept terms and conditions

IISER Application Form – Important Guidelines

  • The IISER application form is available in online mode only on the official website (iiseradmission.in.)
  • Candidates have to pay the application fee for each channel separately.
  • Candidates cannot use the same mobile number for a second IISER registration (in case applying through more than one channel).
  • Foreign nationals are only eligible to apply through the IIT-JEE channel for admission
  • IISER advises candidates to wait for 24 hours to proceed for the second payment attempt if they are not able to see the payment confirmation and the money has been debited.
  • In case the money has been debited twice, the extra money paid by the candidate will be refunded within seven working days to the payment source.
  • Candidates can use the same registration ID to apply for admission through all the three channels.
  • Do not refresh or click the back button before you see the payment success/failure message.

IISER Application Form – How can I retrieve Login Credentials?

Steps to recover the IISER login credentials are as follows.

Step 1 – Visit the official login portal of IISER @ iiseradmission.in

Step 2 – Click on the link stating ‘Forgot Password?’

Step 3 – Enter your user ID in the specified box

Step 4 – Enter the case sensitive captcha code as shown in the image

Step 5 – You will receive an SMS with the password right after clicking on the ‘Get Password’ button

Step 6 – Use the password and the user ID to login to the IISER dashboard

✔️ How can I fill the IISER application form?

Candidates will be able to fill the IISER application form in online mode only on the official website at iiseradmission.in. No other mode is available for filling the application form.

✔️ Can I fill the IISER application form for admission through more than one channel?

Yes, candidates can fill the IISER application form through all the three channels. Candidates have to use the same registration ID for applying through different channels. However, candidates have to pay the IISER application fee for all the three channels separately.

✔️ What is the application fee for IISER 2021?

Candidates belonging to General/EWS/OBC/OBC-NCL/KM have to pay an amount of Rs. 2,000 as the application fee. On the other hand, applicants belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories will have an application fee waiver of Rs. 1,000. Thus, such candidates have to pay only Rs. 1,000 as the application fee. Also, candidates applying as a foreign nationals have to pay USD 100 as IISER application fee.

✔️ What is the minimum score requirement in class 12th to be eligible for the IISER admission?

IISER notifies the class 12th board cutoff marks every year. If the marks of the candidate as per his/her respective board are less than the cutoff marks, he/she will not be eligible for admission. Cutoff scores of CBSE board will be applicable if the IISER board-wise cutoff list does not enlist your board’s name.

✔️ What if a candidate accidentally pays the application fee for one application multiple times?

In case a candidate has paid the application fee more than once, he/she must send the proof of payments to ask-jac2020@iisertvm.ac.in keeping the subject of the email as ‘Problem with application fee’. IISER will initiate the legitimate refunds within seven working days to the payment source.

✔️ I am an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholder. Do I need to apply as a foreign candidate?

No. Candidates holding OCI/PIO cards have to apply as Indian nationals only. IISER will only consider candidates under the status of the foreign national who are not the citizens of India by birth, do not belong to PIO/OCI category, and whose parents are not citizens of India.
