IGNOU OPENMAT Exam Date – Revised Schedule, Updates & Highlights

NTA (National Testing Agency) has recently issued the IGNOU OPENMAT exam date 2020. This national level entrance test, conducted for Indira Gandhi National Open University (for admission to its MBA/PGDM programmes), will be conducted on 15th September 2020. The exam authority has also announced 31st August 2020 as the release date of IGNOU OPENMAT admit cards.ย ย 

Indira Gandhi National Open University conducts the IGNOU OPENMAT entrance test twice every year in more than 100 cities across the country. However, in the year 2020, NTA will be taking over as the official exam conducting authority, and hold the IGNOU OPENMAT in a Computer-based Test (CBT) mode.ย 

Initially, IGNOU OPENMAT 2020 was scheduled to be conducted on 29th April 2020. However, the exam date was rescheduled due to COVID-19.

IGNOU OPENMAT Exam Date 2020 โ€“ Schedule

As per the updated notification, the IGNOU OPENMAT exam for admission to MBA and other Management courses will be conducted on 15th September 2020 (Tuesday). The decision of releasing theย  IGNOU OPENMAT exam date has been made in consultation with the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

The National Testing Agency has also informed that the Entrance Test for OPENMAT XLVII (MBA) 2020 will be conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

IGNOU OPENMAT Exam Date – Submission of Application Form

National Testing Agency or NTA started the registration process for IGNOU OPENMAT 2020 on 28th February 2020. Candidates were able to submit the IGNOU OPENMAT application forms till 30th June 2020 (5 PM), whereas the application fee payment slot was open till 30th June 2020 (11:59 PM).ย 

Candidates submitted their application forms via online mode by accessing the NTA website (http://www.ntaignou.nic.in./). Candidates had to follow five major steps to complete the application form submission process โ€“ย

  3. Uploading documents
  4. Payment of application fee
  5. Submitting the application form after final confirmation

IGNOU OPENMAT Application Fee

Candidates need to pay the registration/application fee for IGNOU OPENMAT to apply for the examination. Before making a payment, the candidates should carefully read all the eligibility criteria. Candidates must note that the application fee amount is non-refundable.

Before filling up the form, the candidate is advised to make a duplicate copy and fill it up first. Any mistakes or fields left out accidentally may lead to the rejection of the application form.

IGNOU OPENMAT Exam Timings

As per the latest announcement, IGNOU OPENMAT-XLVII MBA and management entrance exam 2020 will take place in only one shift. The duration of the examination will be 3 hours, and it will be conducted from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM.ย 

IGNOU OPENMAT Exam Date โ€“ Admit Card

31st August 2020 is the revised date for the release of IGNOU OPENMAT admit card 2020. Candidates can start collecting their IGNOU OPENMAT admit cards by logging into the official IGNOU website (https://ignouexams.nta.nic.in/) using their OPENMAT registration ID and password. They can download the admit cards by entering their Registration ID and date of birth.ย 

IGNOU OPENMAT admit card is a crucial document. No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without his/her admit card. Candidates must verify all the information mentioned on the admit card (like exam date, test centre address, time, etc.) and fix the errors (if any) to avoid cancellation of candidature.

Note: For any error in the OPENMAT admit card (incorrect information, spelling mistake, etc.), candidates must contact the given helpline numbers 0120-6895200 between 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

IGNOU OPENMAT Exam Day Guidelines

While appearing for the IGNOU OPENMAT entrance test, candidates must remember a few points:

  1. Carry the OPENMAT admit card without fail
  2. Do not carry valuable items or electronic devices to the exam hall
  3. Try to reach the exam centre at least an hour before the designated reporting time

Candidates need to carry any one of the original Photo ID Cards specified below (not their xerox copies) along with the admit card:ย 

  1. Aadhar card
  2. Voter ID card
  3. PAN card
  4. Driverโ€™s license
  5. Passport
