New Delhi, 13 September 2022, ICAI Placement Programme: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) with the Women Members Empowerment Committee (WMEC) will conduct the first-ever placement programme for women chartered accountants (CAs). Through this placement drive, women accountants can explore new opportunities to work part-time or work from home.
Women chartered accountants (CAs) can apply for the placement program at the official website – cmib.icai.org.
Note – The candidates cannot appear for any interview from other organisations after accepting the offer letter of the organisation provided by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
ICAI Placement Programme – Aim
The main objective of the placement programme conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is to promote women empowerment and realize the need for gender equality. As per ICAI, women CAs in 2017 were 64,685 whereas, in 2021 the number rose to 88,983.
Number of Women in the Chartered Accountancy Profession
In the year 2013, women constituted only 20.53% of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) membership. The situation has changed drastically, today women constitute more than 28% of the total ICAI members.

- The candidates must register themselves for the placement programme before 15 October 2022.
- The campus placement programme will cover the months of October and November.

ICAI Placement Programme – Important Guidelines
- The members must register on the official website – cmib.icai.org, under the head ‘Career Ascent’.
- A member can consent to only three recruiting entities irrespective of the number of recruiting entities shortlisting her.
- Interviews will be conducted through virtual mode.
- The candidates who wish to register for the placement programme shall be required to submit a registration cum participation fee of INR Rs 1,000 – plus 18% GST.
