DU LLB Syllabus – Section-wise Topics, Important Books, Exam Pattern

The University of Delhi grants LLB admission on the basis of DU LLB entrance test. The question paper of DU LLB entrance exam is segregated into four sections. Hence, the DU LLB syllabus is defined separately for all the sections, namely:

  3. Legal Awareness & Aptitude
  4. General Knowledge

Delhi University will design the question paper in line with the topics included in DU LLB syllabus 2020. Thus, candidates who prepare in sync with the syllabus of DU LLB will have a better chance to crack Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) for LLB admission. 

As per the exam pattern of DU LLB entrance test, there are a total of 100 MCQs in the DUET LLB question paper. Although the University of Delhi and NTA do not disclose the sectional weightage, candidates can expect the maximum number of questions from the ‘Legal Awareness and Aptitude’ section. DU LLB Syllabus – Key Highlights

  1. Although NTA conducts the DU LLB entrance test, Delhi University has the authority to frame or amend the DU LLB syllabus 
  2. The question paper of the entrance test will be divided into four sections as per the DU LLB syllabus 
  3. Candidates have to solve the most number of questions in the ‘Legal Awareness and Aptitude section
  4. Four marks shall be credited for each correct response whereas every incorrect response will lead to a deduction of 1 mark
  5. Candidates will get 2 hours to attempt the DU LLB entrance test paper and all the questions will be MCQ-based

DU LLB Entrance Test Pattern 2020

While preparing for DUET (LLB), the exam pattern also plays a vital role apart from the DU LLB syllabus. Candidates having an awareness of both the elements of the DU LLB Entrance Test are likely to qualify the exam with a good score. The exam pattern for DUET is as follows.

Here are some of the top preparation tips to be followed by law aspirants in order to crack competitive examinations like the DU LLB entrance test.   

  1. Gain complete knowledge of the DU LLB syllabus and the exam pattern
  2. Check the DU LLB exam date and calendar to prepare a schedule-wise preparation plan for all the four sections as per the number of days left 
  3. Maintain an equilibrium between studies and breaks to kill the monotony  
  4. Make short notes for the last minute revision

The University of Delhi prescribes the syllabus of DU LLB entrance test. The National Testing Agency prepares the question paper considering the subject-wise topics prescribed by DU.

✔️ What about the sectional division of DU LLB entrance test question paper?

The University of Delhi prepares the DU LLB question paper in such a way that it includes all the 4 sections. The sections in the DU LLB syllabus include English Language, Analytical Abilities, Legal Awareness and Aptitude (LA) and General Knowledge.

✔️ In which mode does the NTA conduct the DU LLB entrance test?

National Testing Agency will conduct the DU LLB entrance test as a LAN Based CBT i.e. a Computer Based Test. Examinees can answer a maximum of 100 questions on a computer screen, carrying 400 marks.

✔️ Will there be any changes in the DU LLB test pattern in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic?

DU LLB entrance test was set to take place in the first week of June. The exam date has already seen a shift due to COVID-19. Delhi University hasn’t announced any change in the exam pattern yet.
