New Delhi, 19 October 2021 – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the date sheets for Class 10 and 12 Term-1 board exams. Examinations will be conducted in the offline mode between the months of November and December 2021. Once the CBSE Term-1 exams conclude, results will be declared in the form of mark sheets and preparations for Term-2 (February-March 2022) will start. As per CBSE, no student will be placed in pass, compartment, or repeat categories on the basis of first term results. Final results will be calculated based on students’ performance in both Term-1 and Term-2 examinations.
Note: Date sheets for minor subjects have not been released. These will be provided separately to schools by the board. Term-1 exams for minor subjects will begin on 16 November 2021.

CBSE Board Exams 2021-22 – Major Points
- CBSE will be conducting board exams in two parts. Term-1 will be conducted in November-December 2021, while Term-2 will be conducted in February-March 2022.
- Term-1 exams will only contain objective-type questions and the exam duration will be 90 minutes.
- Exams will start at 11.30 AM and the time allotted for reading the question paper will be 20 minutes.
- Students will record their answers in OMR sheets, which will be uploaded to the board’s official website by schools.
- If the government declares any holiday during the examination period, the exams will still be conducted as given.
- The time table of Term-1 is fixed as of now; however, it can still be changed depending on the COVID pandemic.
- Term-2 exams will have both objective and subjective type questions.
- Final results will be calculated based on both Term-1 and Term-2 results.
