New Delhi, 24 March 2022: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to start the new academic session of 2022-23 in all states of India from 1 April 2022. Classes 1- 9 and 12 will begin on time but there might be a delay in the opening of new sessions for Classes 10 and 12 because of the delayed CBSE term-2 exams 2022. CBSE is likely to release a separate schedule for the students of classes 10 and 12.

- CBSE term-1 Class 12 result was released on 19 March 2022, while Class 10 term-1 results were declared on 11 March 2022.ย
- Instead of releasing the term-1 results online, the board has mailed the Class 10, 12 term- 1 results to the respective schools on the registered CBSE Shiksha mail IDs.
- Now, the board will conduct the term-2 board exams 2022 from 26 April 2022 onwards.ย
- As the Class 10 and 12 board exams are yet to be conducted, it is expected that in the new academic session of 2022-23 for Classes 10 and 12 will start much later than usual.ย
CBSE 2022-23 Academic Session – Details
- The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to release a complete schedule for the new academic session soon.ย
- It further suggests that CBSE is all prepared for the new academic session on time.ย
- Students must note that the board has not released any notice as of now, but it is likely that announcements related to new sessions will be made soon.
- Meanwhile this year, schools will also be conducting bridge courses for all the students in order to fill in the basics as online classes took place in the last two years.
- For the students of the ongoing Class 10, there will be no summer vacation.ย
- Once they are done with boards exam 2022, their new academic session admissions will commence.ย
CBSE Results 2022 – Term 1, Term 2 Weightage Criteria
- In the CBSE circular dated 11 March 2022, the board stated that the weightage of term-1 and term-2 will be decided at the time of the declaration of term- 2 result, and accordingly, final performance will be calculated.ย
- In all probability, the board might decide to give 50 percent weightage to both the terms or give more weightage to term-2 marks and lesser weightage to term-1 marks.
- Also, the marks would also be moderated after the term-2 examinations and at the time of computation of CBSE results 2022.ย
- For students who did not appear for the term-1 examination, the board would be giving marks in accordance to their term-2 performance.
- CBSE would be releasing only one marksheet of the CBSE Class 10, 12 results 2022 after term-2.
Note: The final result including toppers, merit lists, and lists of passed as well as failed students would be decided after CBSE term-2 examinations.
CBSE Results 2022 – Request To Reduce Exam Weightage
- The National Progressive Schools’ Conference (NPSC) has urged CBSE to reduce term-1 exam weightage in the range of 20 per cent to 30 per cent, while the board should increase term-2 exam weightage up to 70-80 per cent.
- It was observed that during the term-1 examinations, which were conducted at home centers, many schools adopted unfair means and malpractices.ย
- Consequently, many students scored full marks in most of the subjects.
