AP EAMCET Counselling – Dates, Eligibility, Process, Seat Allotment

Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) will conduct the AP EAMCET counselling for candidates seeking admission to engineering, agriculture and pharmacy programmes offered at AP EAMCET participating institutes. APSCHE has announced the revised dates for the counselling of AP EAMCET qualifying candidates, which will begin tentatively from the 2nd week of September 2021.

As per the previous years’ trends, APSCHE has tried to initiate the AP EAMCET counselling process within thirty days of the release of the result. The counselling will be divided into majorly three rounds. However, the number of rounds may increase in case of vacant seats. 

Candidates who find a place in the merit list are eligible to participate in the AP EAMCET counselling and seat allotment. To appear for AP EAMCET counselling, candidates have to register online and then require to appear in person at the Helpline Centres. AP EAMCET 2021 counselling comprise payment of processing fee and document verification process, which will be available at each round of counselling. Eligibility to Participate in AP EAMCET Counselling 2021

Candidates need to satisfy the following eligibility conditions to be eligible for the AP EAMCET counselling 2021:

1. CET Criteria – Candidates must have a valid AP EAMCET 2021 rank card 

2. Class 12th Score Criteria – Candidates belonging to the below-mentioned categories must obtain the following scores in class 12th to be eligible for AP EAMCET counselling process:

  • Open Category – 45% score. Candidates with a score in the range of 44.5% – 44.9% are also treated as eligible.
  • BC/SC/ST Category – 40% score. Candidates with a score in the range of 39.5% – 39.9% are also treated as eligible. 

3. Age Criteria – Candidates must be16 years old on December 31 of the admission year

AP EAMCET Counselling – Steps

Candidates have to go through the following steps during the AP EAMCET 2021 counselling process.

Step 1 – Payment of counselling fee (Rs 1200 for unreserved categories and Rs 600 for reserved categories)

Step 2 – Attending certificate verification at Help Line Centre (HLC)

Step 3 – Counselling registration

Step 4 – Online filling of options (In order of preference)

Step 5 – AP EAMCET seat allotment

Step 6 – Payment of admission fee, reporting at college, participation in subsequent phases of AP EAMCET counselling

AP EAMCET Counselling 2021 – Step-Wise Procedure

Candidates can check the comprehensive procedure for AP EAMCET counselling below. The information provided below will make you aware of the step-by-step process of  AP EAMCET counselling.

STEP 1 – PAYMENT OF COUNSELLING FEE

  1. Visit the official portal for AP EAMCET counselling to pay the participation fee.
  2. AP EAMCET counselling fee varies for SC/ST and open category/BC candidates.
  3. You must use the latest version of Microsoft Edge/Google Chrome/Mozilla Firefox to pay the AP EAMCET counselling fee.
  4. Enter your AP EAMCET hall ticket number, rank and the case sensitive captcha code to pay the counselling fee online.
  5. After hitting the ‘Pay Fee Online’ button, you will be redirected to an online payment gateway wherein you can choose the means of payment online (debit card, credit card or internet banking).
  6. After the transaction, you will receive an SMS stating that the transaction has been successful. Also, you will be able to view the transaction receipt on the monitor screen.
  7. Note down the payment reference number or take a print out of the transaction receipt for future references.

STEP 2 – CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION AT HELP-LINE CENTRES (HLC)

  1. Document verification during the AP EAMCET counselling usually takes place online. Under the online verification process, APSCHE verifies the certificates online by obtaining the data from different web portals of government departments.
  2. Candidates whose certificates are verified online need not to visit the AP EAMCET HLC 
  3. Candidates whose certificate verification is incomplete have to report at the nearest HLC along with all the relevant documents. Such candidates will receive an SMS notifying that they need to attend the HLC verification. 
  4. If a candidate does not receive any SMS, he/she can also check the verification status online at apeamcet.nic.in.
  5. The verification officers at HLC verify all the documents including rank card, hall ticket, caste/category certificate, marks memo, study certificate, etc.
  6. At the helpline centre, the Chief Verification Officer will issue a printout of certificate verification acknowledgement slip.

STEP 3 – CANDIDATES REGISTRATION AND PASSWORD GENERATION

1. Candidates whose certificates are verified will receive an SMS comprising the registration ID.

2. Such candidates need to click on ‘candidate registration’ at the official web portal of AP EAMCET counselling and generate the password.

3. For generating the password, candidates have to enter their class 12th hall ticket number, AP EAMCET registration number, rank and date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format.

4. After hitting the ‘generate password’, a new window will open. Candidates will be able to view certain details as filled at the time of AP EAMCET application process.

5. Confirm the details by clicking the checkbox and generating the password.

6. However, if the details are not correct, candidates have to visit the HLC with relevant documents to get the same rectified.

7. The password must have the following features:

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • Maximum 10 characters
  • At least one numeric character
  • Combination of uppercase and lowercase alphabets

8. Re-enter the password and the mobile number to save the password.

STEP 4 – OPTION ENTRY

  1. Prepare a rough plan of preferences as you may make mistakes while directly filling options (of institutes) on the web.
  2. Before starting the option entry, candidates have to enter their details including the login ID, hall ticket number, password, and date of birth to login.
  3. After clicking the ‘Login’ button, candidates will receive an OTP which they need to enter in the specified box.
  4. After entering the OTP, candidates will come across multiple districts against the checkboxes. Tick the checkboxes to select the institute in a particular district.
  5. Candidates can choose as many as districts they wish.
  6. Candidates will find different colours assigned to university colleges, women colleges, minority colleges, etc.
  7. The option numbers (order of preferences) need to be entered in the box against the particular college and course. Entering number #1 will denote the first preference, similarly, #2 will denote second preference.
  8. It is advised to click on the ‘save’ option at regular intervals while filling the option form.
  9. After filling the options, candidates must click on the view and print the options.

STEP 5 – FINAL SEAT ALLOTMENT THROUGH AP EAMCET 2021

1. APSCHE will display the seat allotment list on the official counselling portal i.e. apeamcet.nic.in

2. APSCHE will consider the following factors while allocating the seats to the candidates:

  • Merit
  • Category
  • Sex
  • Local area
  • Special reservation category 
  • Options of institutes chosen by the candidate
  • Numbers of vacancies available in a particular college

3. After the release of the AP EAMCET seat allotment list, candidates have to enter the counselling portal to download their seat allotment letter

4. If the vacancy is unavailable in the first institute of preference chosen by a candidate, the second preference will be considered for the AP EAMCET seat allotment. If the second option also does not have the vacancy, the third option is considered and so on.

STEP 6 – PAYMENT OF FEES AND REPORTING AT COLLEGE

1. Candidates who accept the seat allotted to them in the first phase of the counselling will have to report at their respective institute(s) as per the schedule

2. At the institutes, candidates have to pay the admission fee as per their course

3. Also, candidates have to carry certain documents to get them verified in person

AP EAMCET Counselling 2021 – Participation in Second and Third Rounds

In order to participate in the subsequent rounds of AP EAMCET counselling, candidates have to perform almost all the steps mentioned above (except a few). Candidates who have already paid the counselling fee need not pay the same again. Also, candidates who have generated the password can use the same password for option entry again. 

AP EAMCET Counselling – Eligibility for Second/Third Round

Following candidates will be eligible to participate in the subsequent rounds of AP EAMCET counselling:

  1. Those who were allotted a seat but did not accept the same
  2. Those who could not not secure any seat in the first round of AP EAMCET counselling 2021
  3. Those who did not exercise option entry so far, but got their certificates verified
  4. Those who have secured seats but are aspiring for a better option
  5. Those who have not reported at the institute or reported but cancelled their allotment

Candidates who did not get their certificates verified are also eligible. However, they need to get the same verified by visiting the nearest HLC..

Second and Final Round AP EAMCET Counselling – Key Highlights

  1. Candidates need to choose the options (of preferred institutes) again for the second and third rounds of AP EAMCET counselling, irrespective of their participation in the prior rounds.
  2. Candidates who are satisfied with the allotment in the first round must not participate in the subsequent rounds to retain their allotted seat.  
  3. If candidates have paid the counselling fee once, they need not pay the same again.

AP EAMCET Counselling – FAQs

✔️ What is the amount of AP EAMCET counselling fee?

Candidates have to pay a counselling fee (also known as participation fee) of Rs. 1,200. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST categories will have a relaxation of 50℅. Hence, they need to pay Rs. 600 as the AP EAMCET counselling fee.

✔️ What if the amount of AP EAMCET counselling fee is deducted but the transaction status is pending?

Candidates whose amount has been debited and the transaction receipt states 'Failed' will get a refund within three working days at the payment source.

✔️ Can I pay the counselling fee for AP EAMCET after the verification of my documents?

No. Candidates have to pay the AP EAMCET counselling fee before getting their documents verified. The document verification status will only appear after they pay the counselling fee.

✔️ What is the mode of AP EAMCET counselling 2021?

The mode of all the three rounds of AP EAMCET counselling is online. The certificate verification is done by APSCHE using the record of various government departments. However, there are some instances when the candidates have to report to the AP EAMCET helpline centre for certificate verification.

✔️ What are the chances of getting a seat in the third round of AP EAMCET counselling process?

The seat allotment through AP EAMCET score depends upon a number of factors such as the number of seats available, options chosen by the candidate, category, gender, etc.

Candidates can obtain the login ID by sending an SMS from their registered mobile number to 8790499899 in the following format – APEAMCET01hall ticket number. If a candidate is still not able to receive the login ID, there can be chances that the registered mobile number is incorrect. In such a case, candidates need to visit the nearest helpline centre along with their hall ticket and the aadhaar card.
