IBPS RRB 2023 – Dates, Exam Centres, Eligibility, Syllabus & More

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the IBPS RRB exam annually. Candidates, by qualifying the various stages of IBPS recruitment test can expect to get recruited in various posts of Officer category and that of Assistant Officer (Multipurpose) in participating rural regional banks across India.Β This year, the IBPS RRB Prelims examination will be held across 150 cities in India for a total of 8,285 vacancies (revised). IBPS RRB 2022 Prelims will be conducted in CBT or Computer Based Test mode. The same test mode will be used for the Main exam as well.Β 

The IBPS RRB Prelims question paper contains 80 questions and the candidates are given 45 minutes to attempt all the questions. In the Mains exam, candidates are asked 200 questions which they have to answer in 120 minutes (240 questions in 2.5 hours for Special Cadre Officers). Note: Candidates must keep in mind that there is no preliminary examination for Officers Scale II and III. For them, there is only a single-level examination followed by an interview process upon passing.

IBPS RRB – Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who wish to apply for IBPS RRB have to fulfil the predetermined eligibility criteria to register and sit for the exam. The below table will highlight the eligibility criteria of IBPS RRB in terms of domicile, educational qualification and age.

NATIONALITY

As per IBPS RRB eligibility criteria, a candidate should either be an Indian citizen or citizen of the countries highlighted below.Β 

The applying candidate must be either a:

  1. Citizen of IndiaΒ 
  2. OR Subject of BhutanΒ 
  3. OR Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 intending to settle in India permanentlyΒ 
  4. OR Subject of Nepal
  5. OR Person of Indian origin who has migrated from:
  • Sri Lanka
  • East African Countries (Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania ((formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), and Zaire (to settle permanently in India))

Note: An eligibility certificate must be issued by the Government favouring the candidates belonging to the category number 2,3,4 and 5, as mentioned above. The candidates have to produce a certificate of eligibility duly approved and signed from the Government of India during the IBPS RRB Interview.

AGE LIMIT

Before applying for the different IBPS RRB posts, candidates should fulfil the important age limit eligibility. IBPS has set an upper and lower age limit for candidates who wish to appear for the IBPS RRB exam 2022.

Candidates should remember that the age limits of all the posts are different and they should check them carefully before applying for their preferred choices.Β 

Office Assistant (Multipurpose) Age should be between 18 to 28 years (Not born before 2nd June 1994 and later than 31st May 2004.
Officer Scale – I (Assistant Manager) Age should be between 18 to 30 years (Not born before 3rd June 1992 and later than 31st May 2004.
Officer Scale-II (Manager) Age should be between 21 to 32 years (Not born before 3rd June 1990 and later than 31st May 2001.
Officer Scale – III (Senior Manager) Age should be between 21 to 40 years (Not born before 3rd June 1982 and later than 30st May 2001.

IBPS RRB – Application Form

IBPS RRB 2022 online application form was released on 07th June 2022. Seeing the last year’s trend, the online registration process is expected to be a lengthy process as lakhs of aspirants will apply for the IBPS RRB exam. To make the application process smooth, IBPS will tentatively keep the application/registration portal active for a lengthy period.Β 

IBPS had offered aspirants several payment channels to pay their application without hassle. Candidates were able to find them easily in the IBPS RRB notification. They could pay via online mode [Debit Cards (RuPay/ Visa/ Master Card/ Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets].Β 

Candidates submitted their application forms via online mode by accessing the official IBPS website. They had to follow four major steps to complete the application form submission process –

  4. Pay Application Fees

IBPS RRB – Admit Card

Until now, the exact dates for the release of the IBPS RRB Prelims admit card has not been announced for the PO post. The expected date of it is sometime around August 2022Only the IBPS RRB Clerk admit card has been released on 16th July 2022. Once the dates are finalised, IBPS would publish it on their official website and candidates can collect/download their respective admit cards by logging into www.ibps.com.

After the admit card download link is made active, candidates have to follow the below-mentioned steps to download their admit cards:

  1. Visit the official website of IBPS – www.ibps.inΒ 
  2. Click on the provided link stating β€˜CRP RRBs XI Admit Card’  to download IBPS RRB admit card 2022
  3. Read IBPS RRB exam day instructions carefully and click on β€˜Yes’ tab
  4. Enter roll number/registration number, date of birth/password and captcha code
  5. IBPS RRB admit card 2022 will be displayed on the screen
  6. Download and take a printout of the admit card

Note: For any error in the admit card (incorrect information, spelling mistake, etc.), candidates must contact the given helpline numbers 1800 222 366 OR 1800 103 4566 between 09:30 AM to 06:00 PM on all days except Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

IBPS RRB – Guidelines for Exam Day

Candidates must follow the online test instructions and guidelines set by the IBPS RRB authority. The test instructions will help the candidates to attempt the computer-based exam without any hassles. Given below is a list of online test instructions set by the IBPS panel:

  1. The candidate/s must report at the examination centre at least an hour and a half (1.5 hours) before the allotted exam time
  2. Candidates reporting after the exam commencement will not be allowed to enter the examination hall
  3. The candidate/s must compulsorily bring the admit card (hard copy). The test centre officials will verify it and then allow the candidate to sit for the examination
  4. The candidate must show, on-demand, the admit card downloaded/printed from the IBPS’s website
  5. Admit cards must be in good condition. Dismantled, disfigured or mutilated admit cards compromising the details of the candidate will not be accepted
  6. A seat with Roll Number will be allotted to each candidate. They should find and sit on their allocated seats only
  7. No baggage is allowed inside the examination hall
  8. Candidates will be allowed to carry a photo ID proof and hard copy of admit card inside the examination hall. Gloves, a personal transparent water bottle, personal hand sanitizer (50 ml), and a pen will also be allowed in the exam hall.
  9. Candidates will not be allowed to carry mathematical/log tables, electronic watches, calculator, slide rules, pager, Β bits of papers and cell phone inside the examination hall

What to Carry Inside the IBPS RRB Exam Centre?

Candidates are advised to bring the following documents to the examination hall. Without these documents, candidates won’t be allowed to enter the examination venue.

  1. A hard copy of admit card

  3. Xerox of ID proof
  4. 2 passport-sized photographsΒ

IBPS RRB – Exam Centres

IBPS RRB exam (Prelims) will be conducted in 150 cities. However, the Mains examination will be conducted in 70 cities. Most IBPS RRB exam centres are present in district headquarters and major cities. To make things easier, IBPS conducts the examination across all the cities in India via online mode.Β 

The exam centre allotted to each candidate will be printed on their respective admit cards. Please note that the candidates cannot make the changes once the preferred centres are submitted by them during the application process.
