WBTET 2023 – Apply for 11,000 Vacant Posts in October

New Delhi, 27 September 2022, WBTET 2022: The West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) will conduct West Bengal Teacher Ability Test (WBTET) in December 2022. The board will recruit teachers for 11,000 vacant posts in primary schools. The education department has announced to recruit 1409 physical education teachers and 1600 work education teachers in state-run schools. 

The West Bengal Board of Primary Education will publish the requirement notification in October 2022 on the official website – www.wbbpe.org. 

WBTET 2022 – Overview

The West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test (WBTET) follows the criteria of the National Council for Teachers’ Education (NCTE).

WBTET 2022 – Eligibility

• Candidates must be citizens of India.
• Candidates applying for the exam must be at least 18 years of age.
• Candidates applying for the primary teacher posts must have secured 50% marks in Class 12 and possess 2 Years of Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
• Candidates applying for secondary teacher posts must have Bachelor of Arts (BA) in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree with a minimum of 60% marks.

WBTET 2022 – Exam Pattern

• The exam will be conducted through offline mode.
• There will be two papers namely, primary teaching and secondary teaching.
• There will be no negative marking rule for incorrect responses.

• The minimum qualifying marks for the general category is 60%

WBTET 2022 – Application Fee

• The application fee of WBTET exam 2022 is INR 100 for the general category.
• The candidates who fall under the category of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories will have to pay INR 25 as the application fee.

WBTET 2022 – Salary

• The basic salary of a West Bengal primary teacher is INR 31,000.
• The basic salary of a West Bengal secondary teacher is INR 33,400.
• The salary will include House Rent Allowance (HRA) of INR 3,400 and medical insurance of INR 500.
