AKTU, Lucknow or Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University has scrapped the UPSEE exam from the next academic year 2021-22 onwards. Instead, the admission to engineering programs will now be provided through JEE Main 2021. NTA (National Testing Agency) shall be responsible for conducting the JEE Main, as is the case since 2019.
Speaking about UPSEE 2020 application and admission trends, approximately 1,25,000+ candidates had applied for the UPSEE exam and around 79,502 B.Tech seats were filled. However, AKTU has stated that from now on, engineering aspirants will only have to appear for the JEE Mains exam. There will not be any separate State Level Entrance Test. Admission of the shortlisted candidates to engineering colleges will now be conducted based on their JEE Main examination score. The official AKTU Twitter handle also shared this news with the below statement’
“Important information for candidates seeking admission in engineering courses in the year 2021 in government and private institutions related to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow.”
What should UPSEE 2021 aspirants do now?
Aspirants who are interested in pursuing engineering in Uttar Pradesh, and have been planning to apply for UPSEE 2021 have to now fill up the JEE Main application form 2021. Besides, they need to take note that the JEE Main application process for the January session is about to be launched soon.
Those who were preparing for the UPSEE exam for the academic year 2021-22 are now advised to start preparing from the mock test papers present in the official website of NTA. Besides, they can also download the National Test Abhyas app from Google Play store for free, prepare well and increase their chance of admission.
Also, as per the official notification (image above), aspiring candidates will be provided free coaching by University recognised Secondary Schools. This endeavour is to make the candidates aware of the new exam pattern.
